Community Team Reveal Gameweek 37 – FPL Inzaghi

Each Gameweek brings an FPL community team reveal. As a result, that person gives insight into their transfers, captaincy and future plans.

Ahead of Gameweek 37, it’s the turn of FPL Inzaghi (Ryan) to tell us what is happening to his team.

Hi Ryan and thanks for the team reveal. So how did Gameweek 36 go?

100 points was just about enough for a green arrow. But although I’ve managed to claw back some of the ground lost after the dismal no-Free Hit of Gamweek 34, I remain some way short of the original 18k rank. Instead, I sit at 63k and have hopes of a top 25k finish because my Bench Boost is active for Double Gameweek 37.

What does your defence look like?

It’s a shame that I have to play any of these defenders! I’ve been unlucky with two Wildcard picks – Fabian Schar and Jan Paul van Hecke – quickly being ruled out through injury, whilst the players who aren’t hurt seem to be allergic to points.

This chip requires a full 15, meaning I’ll have to make at least two transfers to fix these setbacks.

Meanwhile, what about your midfield and attack?

It’s a popular front eight and one that I’m happy with. At the time of writing, we have no indication as to whether Bruno Fernandes will recover for Double Gameweek 37.

His best replacements could be Kevin De Bruyne and Richarlison but I’m already tripled up on Man City and Spurs. If Fernandes is out, I’ll have to look elsewhere.

So what are your transfer plans for Gameweek 37 and beyond?

Thankfully, I’ve got two free transfers for this week. I can sell Fernandes for team-mate Alejandro Garnacho – I’d love a punt on either Noni Madueke or one of the aforementioned duo but I need defenders and Chelsea are one of the few teams that offer a decent option at the back. They’ve improved after shifting to a new system where Marc Cucurella inverts from left-back.

Therefore Garnacho comes in for Bruno, Schar will make way for Dan Burn and Cucurella will replace van Hecke. I think Mauricio Pochettino will be reluctant to change this system, given how well it’s worked, which should mean three upcoming starts for the Spaniard.

If Fernandes is good to go, it should just end up being the other two moves. Both strategies leave enough money in the bank for a Bukayo Saka or Kai Havertz final-day punt.

Finally, what about captaincy?

This is an easy one, as Erling Haaland takes the armband for two must-win Man City games.

Good luck and thank you for the team reveal!

No problem. I’ll update my team on Twitter and on my YouTube channel – give me a follow, I’d love to meet you and chat FPL!
