Notes

  • The end of the 2023-2024 FPL season is finally upon us! Since I started writing these posts, I’ve risen from an OR of ~250K to ~1.5K, following the conclusion of DGW37. Hopefully you’ve found my team reveals and thinking behind my decisions in that time useful!
  • Looking ahead to GW38, I have one free transfer and £5.9m in the bank, which pretty much allows me to bring in any player I want in one move with the exception of maybe Mohamed Salah.
  • I need to decide whether I attack the final GW to try and achieve a top 1K finish or make more conservative moves that help me consolidate my current OR.
  • Realistically, bringing in Salah is out of the question unless I sell someone like Son-Heung Min or Phil Foden, which comes with its own risks.
  • I also like the idea of replacing Anthony Gordon (who is an injury doubt for GW38) with Michael Olise. His in-form Crystal Palace side face an Aston Villa team who have already sewn up Champions League qualification and might be mentally ‘on the beach’.
  • If I’m playing more conservatively then I’ll likely look to bring in one of Kai Havertz or Bukayo Saka for Gordon. Havertz’s lower ownership is appealing in terms of helping me make up ground to the top 1K.
  • In terms of team selection, both of my goalkeepers have favourable fixtures this week. However, Đorđe Petrović gets the nod by virtue of a home fixture and better recent form compared with Guglielmo Vicario/Spurs.
  • My defence picks itself. Gabriel, Joško Gvardiol and Pedro Porro line up across the back. Dan Burn and Rayan Aït-Nouri, in particular, face tricky away fixtures and are relegated to the bench.
  • In midfield, Alejandro Garnacho’s form and Fantasy production have dropped off in recent weeks. He makes way for Foden, Son, Cole Palmer and whoever ends up replacing Gordon. Palmer is likely to be my vice-captain.
  • There are no planned changes upfront. Captain Erling Haaland, Alexander Isak and Nicolas Jackson lead the line one more time this season.
