Best Budget Players for Gameweek 37

Looking at upcoming fixtures and underlying data from Fantasy Football Scout’s members area, here are some of the best Double Gameweek 37 budget players.

Whether a manager is activating their Bench Boost or not, identifying the right cheap assets can be hugely rewarding. Especially if they’re a differential in these final weeks.

CHELSEA

Best Budget Players Gameweek 37

If highly-picked Bruno Fernandes (£8.5m) is ruled out of Double Gameweek 37, the in-form Noni Madueke (£5.3m) could be an excellent cheap replacement. Particularly outstanding against West Ham, he’s started six successive matches and secured three goals, two assists and six bonuses in that time.

Conor Gallagher (£5.4m) has also been productive of late, with an attacking return in three successive outings. He’s played an instrumental role in the Blues’ recent surge, although it should be noted that the impressive wins over Everton, Spurs and West Ham were all at home. Both parts of Gameweek 37 are away from Stamford Bridge, a situation that’s winless in five attempts.

Defender Trevoh Chalobah (£4.3m) totals 21 points from the last two games, staking his claim to keep Malo Gusto (£4.3m) and Axel Disasi (£4.9m) out of the team.

Yet the main obstacle to these is that many active managers have already reached their maximum of three Chelsea names. Possibly including bargain goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic (£4.6m).

BRIGHTON

The team that will have the biggest say in the race for European football is Brighton. That’s because their final three opponents are Newcastle, Chelsea and Man United.

Exciting attacker Simon Adingra (£5.0m) racked up four shots on target and five chances created in Sunday’s win over Aston Villa. Two of the latter were classified as a big chance. He also won the penalty that would’ve brought him an FPL assist had Joao Pedro (£5.2m) not missed his first spot kick of the season.

Across all competitions, it was the Brazilian’s 11th of this campaign and it’ll be interesting to see whether he keeps these duties, going forward. Beyond penalties, Pedro is the forward with the fourth-most touches inside the box (181) and joint-six-most shots from there (63).

At the back, it’s hard to say which of Joel Veltman (£4.3m) and Igor Julio (£4.3m) is safer for minutes. But, as a team, the Seagulls may have been the final one to register a clean sheet but they’ve kept six in 16. Only Man City and Arsenal have more since Gameweek 20.

MORE BUDGET GEMS

From the six teams that feature twice in Double Gameweek 37, honourable mentions should also go to Spurs’ Brennan Johnson (£5.8m) and Newcastle’s Tino Livramento (£4.0m).

Johnson faces Burnley and Man City with a number of big chances (18) that better all team-mates – including Son Heung-min (£9.9m) and Richarlison (£6.8m).

Meanwhile, the unknown availability of Kieran Trippier (£6.6m) gives Livramento a chance to keep shining at both ends.

Of single Gameweekers, Jean-Philippe Mateta (£5.1m) netted in Crystal Palace’s 4-0 thrashing of Man United, his ninth in 11 matches. Next up is the same Wolves that has just been picked apart by Erling Haaland (£14.2m).

Finally, midfielder Callum Hudson-Odoi (£4.7m) versus former club Chelsea. His dazzling brace at Sheffield United pushes Nottingham Forest closer to survival and one more win should complete the job.
