Sky Fantasy Gameweek 12 Expert Team Reveal

With the deadline inching closer we take a look at a Sky Fantasy Gameweek 12 expert team reveal. Fantasy Football Scout contributor @FFScout_Tom comes in to share his team and explain the rationale behind some of his selections and thoughts.

Which defenders should we pick? Which strikers should be making our squads? Our expert could help bring clarity to the decisions you have to make in your own team to give you an edge over your competition with his Sky Fantasy Gameweek 12 expert team reveal.

Introduction

Well that was a fantasy weekend to forget! In the following article, I will review the weekend just gone (if you dare!) and look ahead to GW12 in Sky Fantasy Football.

GW11 Review

Just like FPL, points were few and far between this week in Sky FF. My three captains, three of the Premier League’s most consistent attackers in Haaland, Salah and Son (shot tier aside) didn’t get an attacking return between then! Some weeks you just can’t plan for. I think it’s one to forget about and move on.

As explained last week, I’m looking to conserve transfers as we approach overhaul after a flurry of moves in the past few weeks. I didn’t use any transfers.

Overall, I was indebted to Nick Pope (nine points) and Jarrod Bowen (eight points) for my small green arrow up to 7K. These two differentials made up the bulk of my 46 points. Only Dunk and the aforementioned Son picked up anything more than appearance points.

GW12 Transfers and Captains

Looking ahead to this weekend, there are a couple of tricky captaincy decisions to make. Saturday is between Son (wol) and Saliba (BUR). Prior to Monday nights hammering at the hands of Chelsea, my armband was on Son. However, it’s hard to see how Spurs don’t get significantly worse with Udogie, Romero and van der Ven absent. If James Maddison is also sidelined then it’s going to be hard for me to trust Son with the armband, especially with Saliba having such a kind fixture. Thankfully, we will see the Spurs team before we have to make our decision. My Saturday armband also probably hinges on whether Maddison is starting.

On Sunday, I’ve got four legitimate options. They are Salah (BRE), Haaland (che), Watkins (FUL) and Dunk (SHU). My gut feeling is to back Mo Salah. He’s been electric this season and always seems to find a way, especially at Anfield. As a Chelsea fan, it is hard for me to back Haaland and I do think we have upped our game significantly against the big teams. Having said that, Haaland is never a bad pick and perhaps I’m letting my Chelsea bias cloud my judgement. Looking back though, I’ve backed Salah when Haaland had Arsenal and Man Utd so logically it feels right to do it again.

Transfers wise, as mentioned, I’m not looking to make any. However, James Maddison’s injury may force me into a move. If the news isn’t promising in the press conference and he is missing from the squad, my preferred replacement is Joao Palhinha. He continues to tick over and covers the single game day captaincy in GW13 (which I’m currently skipping).

Thanks for reading and good luck for the upcoming Gameweek. Remember to set your captains and plan your transfers! It can’t be worse than last week, surely…
