Serie A Fantasy Round 28 Expert Team Reveal

Here we bring in one of our regular contributors and season managers to provide you with his Serie A Fantasy Round 28 expert team reveal. @FplRossoneri is back to reveal his team and share his plans around transfers and captaincy.

With Serie A Fantasy Round 28 on the horizon it could be hugely beneficial to catch up with our expert. His knowledge and decisions could be extremely enlightening to other fantasy managers and help to bring clarity to some of the choices we have to make in our own teams.

Introduction

Welcome back to my GW28 Team reveal for Serie A Fantasy. Here, I pen down my thoughts about the team, my transfers if any, and my captain for each upcoming GW.

Now, back to the article, looking at GW27 first, I again got a very paltry 41 points with a GW average of 44 points. It was a small red arrow that took me from 251st to 358th worldwide and still third in Germany after GW27.

GW28 stands out as one of those GWs that has a lot of bigger teams playing each other, from the looks of it Milan have the best fixture in which they play Empoli at home.

Round 28 Team Reveal

Goalkeeper

  • Yann Sommer (€5.8m) – Sommer is back in goal after getting five points in Inter’ 2-1 win over Genoa in GW27. Sommer has been by far the most reliable GK in Serie A this season both in terms of security of starts and source of consistent points. He currently sits atop the list of GKs with the most points after GW25 with 10 double-digit hauls to boast in just 27 GWs. Inter have a tougher fixture playing in-form Bologna away from home in GW28. But, given Inter’ form I still expect them to come away with a win and Sommer getting some good points. He is still only owned by 27.3% of managers and if you are still looking for a solid GK till the end of the season then Sommer is your guy.

Defenders

  • Danilo (€6.6m) – My first defender in GW28 will be Danilo from Juventus. He has averaged almost 8,4 points per GW after his return from a long-term injury in GW15. Juventus did not keep a clean sheet yet again losing 2-1 to Napoli in GW27. They play Atalanta at home and would want to shut up shop and win no matter what if they want to pursue Inter in the Scudetto race which more or less looks to be over.
  • Gleison Bremer (€5.8m) – My second defender in GW28 will be Bremer from Juventus. He currently remains at the top of the defenders list with the most points. Juventus still have some amazing fixtures coming up and Bremer could bring in a lot of points during this period.
  • Theo Hernandez (€7m) – One of my favourite players to watch in Serie A is Theo for the explosiveness and unpredictability he brings to the pitch from a LB position. He will be my transfer in this GW given a great home fixture vs Empoli that is coming up. At the moment Theo only has four goals and three assists this season. But, he’s again coming into form the last few seasons. He is also a viable captaincy option as well given the lack of captain options outside of Milan players.

Midfielders

  • Albert Gudmundsson (€6m) – Gudmundsson has been one of the league’s revelations this year with nine goals and three assists in just 27 games for Genoa. He has transitioned from a CAM/LW to an ST role this year and he has embraced the role. Gudmundsson sits second now in the most points list for midfielders in Serie A Fantasy and at just 6M, he is an absolute bargain. Genoa will be playing Monza at home in GW28 and Gudmundsson and company will get something out of the game.
  • Charles De Ketelaere (€6m) – I transferred CDK in as part of a late transfer in GW25 because of the form that he has been in recently. CDK has amassed four goals and two assists in his last five games. He now plays Juventus away from home in GW28. Atalanta as a team are in a rich vein of form and with Lookman also coming back from AFCON, they will have a full-strength side for GW28.
  • Felipe Anderson (€9m) – My first transfer last week was Anderson from Lazio who failed in the DGW when his counterpart Alberto scored in both fixtures. Anderson has scored the most points for Lazio this season in fantasy terms getting 158 points so far. He has three goals and six assists this season and looks like one of Lazio’s main sources of creativity in the attacking front.
  • Nico Gonzalez (€6.4m) – One of the most annoying (from a fantasy perspective) yet talented players is Nico Gonzalez from Fiorentina. But, he came good (sort of) in DGW24 where he scored 12 points. On his day Gonzalez can be one of the best players in Serie A and that is what I am hoping to see yet again in GW25. He has seven goals and one assist in just 1375 mins of action. Fiorentina do have a tough fixture when Roma come visiting but I do expect goals in this game and hopefully, Nico is involved in some capacity.

Forwards

  • Oliver Giroud (€9m) – My first playing forward for GW28 will be Oliver Giroud. He has been great for me since I transferred him in GW17. Giroud now has 12 goals and eight assists in 25 starts for Milan sharing the Talisman duties with Leao. He will want to get on the score sheet again in GW28 when Milan face Empoli at home. He was rested in the recent Monza game and given that Jovic got red carded in that same game, Giroud’s xMins should be fairly secure.
  • Lautaro Martinez (€11.8m) – Martinez looks a level above everyone else at the moment in Serie A. So far he has 23 goals and two assists in just 27 games for Inter. As expected Lautaro was back to his scoring form in GW25 when Inter beat Salernitana 4-0 at home but failed to get a goal involvement in the last game vs Genoa. Lautaro and Inter have a tricky game vs high-flying Bologna in GW28 but it would not be a surprise if Lautaro came good again.
  • Victor Osimhen (€12.4m) – Last but by no means least, my third forward for this week is Osimhen. He is fully back in form now with five goals and two assists in his last five games. Osimhen has a tougher fixture vs Torino this week who are very good defensively. However, given the recent upturn in Napoli’s form, I do expect them to come away with a win in GW28. Osimhen can also be a viable captaincy option if you do not fancy the Milan players. In just 14 starts this season Osimhen has 11 goals and three assists and could be a great option for GW28.

Captaincy

  • At the moment of writing this article it is currently on Theo Hernandez for reasons I have mentioned above. Victor Osimhen and Oliver Giroud are also in the running for captaincy as things stand.

As usual, I will try to release my final team before the deadline on X. Make sure you are following me on there @FPLRossoneriNick. Also follow Fantasy Football Community for all of the latest updates in Serie A Fantasy.

That’s it for my GW28 Team reveal. See you in GW29. Best of luck with the game week and may all of your arrows be green.
