Gameweek 37 Best Free Hit Team

Using the fixture ticker and underlying stats of Fantasy Football Scout’s members area, we pick the best Gameweek 37 Free Hit team.

In Fantasy Premier League (FPL), an activated Free Hit chip allows managers to select a one-week-only squad. It comes at no cost, although do be aware that your squad will return to its regular 15 for the Gameweek afterwards.

GAMEWEEK 37 FIXTURES

Who has the best and worst fixtures?

Next up, we return to Double Gameweek territory for the final time. Six sides play twice in Gameweek 37, with the ticker believing that Chelsea and Newcastle have the best-looking pair.

Furthermore, it suggests staying away from Fulham, Burnley and both sides of the Aston Villa v Liverpool clash.

GAMEWEEK 37 BEST FREE HIT TEAM

The fantastic Plan FPL allows managers to plan transfers weeks in advance. This means we can use it to create Free Hit drafts.

Goalkeepers

Free Hit users are unable to use Bench Boost at the same time, so the promising Chelsea fixtures see Djordje Petrovic (£4.6m) get the nod over Andre Onana (£5.0m). The Blues are on consecutive clean sheets, finding form as they make a late push to finish in European spots.

Defenders

Meanwhile, despite the risks of ‘Pep Roulette’, it’s hard to ignore the attacking form of Josko Gvardiol (£5.1m). He has three goals and two assists from his latest six outings, in all competitions. Man City are relentless in their quest to win yet another league title and Gvardiol has clean sheet potential against both Fulham and Spurs.

Newcastle’s Dan Burn (£4.6m) has a tricky-looking pair of fixtures but Eddie Howe’s side is in superb form. For the third defensive spot, we back the single Gameweek of Arsenal’s outstanding backline over the doubles of leaky Spurs, Brighton and Man United. Therefore Gabriel (£5.4m) remains, with Pedro Porro (£5.8m) as a substitute alongside Jarrad Branthwaite (£4.4m) at home to Sheffield United.

Midfielders

All eight attackers feature twice in this Gameweek. Cole Palmer (£6.2m) has 11 goals and three assists in his last eight matches, making him FPL’s joint-top points scorer so far.

Just when frustrated Son Heung-min (£9.9m) owners were about to witness another anonymous blank, he netted a consolation at Anfield to remind them that he’s capable of netting at any time. The South Korean international hosts Burnley and Man City, where Phil Foden (£8.4m) should be on show.

He was relatively quiet with ‘just’ an assist at the weekend but three of his previous five starts brought at least two goals and 15 points.

Completing the midfield is Anthony Gordon (£6.3m) after a rare return when on the road. It would’ve been a second assist, had there not been a penalty miss. Making up the numbers, ready to step in if needed, is the cheap Alejandro Garnacho (£5.0m).

Forwards

Up front, Saturday’s four-goal hero Erling Haaland (£14.2m) is joined by Alexander Isak (£8.4m) and Nicolas Jackson (£6.9m).

Isak missed the penalty that Gordon won, so it’ll be interesting to see if he keeps spot-kick duties when Callum Wilson (£7.8m) is also playing. He’s netted on seven successive home occasions and begins Double Gameweek 37 at St James’ Park versus Brighton.

Finally, the many managers who’d recently bought Jackson probably did so nervously, knowing he had a Darwin-like reputation for missing big chances. But his midweek goal against Spurs was immediately followed by 16 points at home to West Ham, putting him in great form.
