FPL Budget Players for Gameweek 12

We pick out the best FPL budget players for Gameweek 12. With the help of the Fantasy Football Scout fixture ticker and underlying stats we provide some of the best cheap players, whether that be goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders or forwards for the round ahead.

Finding some of the best FPL budget players for Gameweek 12 can be extremely useful to managers. Cheap players are vital when it comes to trying to fit in the more expensive options and can even be great standalone assets.

Brighton attackers

Brighton sit seventh in the league at the time of writing, The Seagulls are struggling to balance European and domestic football and that is evident in their recent results. That may be the case but they’re still maintaining some great attacking data. In fact, they sit fourth best for goals scored (24) and third best for shots on target (65).

That data could come with big rewards if put into practise this week. The chances of that seem high as they face-off with Sheffield United next. The newly promoted side have been awful defensively this season and we can see that in the following stats they’re producing. Amongst all teams they sit bottom for goals conceded (30), shots in the box conceded (140) and second worst for big chances conceded (40).

There are several routes into the Brighton attack this week and one of them is Simon Adingra. The midfielder comes in at just £5m in the game. He’s also started the last four league matches for his side and picked up a seven-point return during that time.

Another great option could be striker Evan Ferguson (£6m). The Irishman leads the Brighton frontline and picked up an 8-point return in his recent match against Fulham in Gameweek 10. Ferguson has also started Brighton’ last three league matches.

Arsenal

Arsenal have failed to win any of their last two league matches against Chelsea and Newcastle. However, in terms of stats they’re still up there with some of the best defensively – ranking second best for expected goals conceded (9.08) and joint first for clean sheets kept (five).

Their upcoming opponents Burnley are struggling in all areas of the pitch statistically. They sit joint second worst for goals conceded (27), the worst for goals scored (eight) and second worst for expected goals scored (9.67).

Arsenal have two great options this week with great potential. The first is centre-back Gabriel (£4.8m). The Brazilian is one of the cheapest routes into the Arsenal backline. He was also goal threat last season – he ranked joint second for attempts on goal amongst all defenders, so could have two routes to points.

The second Arsenal pick is striker Eddie Nketiah (£5.7m). He is the focal point to the Arsenal attack and comes in for the injured Gabriel Jesus. Nketiah managed a massive 17 points in one of his most recent matches after netting three times to secure a hattrick.

Other great enabling players

  • Newcastle – Due to injuries Newcastle also have some great defensive options. Tino Livramento (£4.3m) is one option. The Italian played in a right-wing role in his most recent Champions League game. Another option is even cheaper, Jamaal Lascelles (£4m). He will be filling in for Sven Botman at the back until he return.
  • Brennan Johnson (£5.8m) – The Tottenham injuries and bans are mounting up and one player who will benefit from that is this man. The midfielder should start on the wing moving forward and is one of the cheapest routes into an impressive Tottenham attack.
  • Harry Maguire (4.2m) – The Manchester United centre-back is starting every match and with Luton next it could be a great opportunity to bag a clean sheet. Maguire also has goal threat from set-plays.
