Best players for Gameweek 12

The new round of Premier League is ahead. With that in mind and with the help of Fantasy Football Scout, we have dug into the data and plucked out some of best player v team stats to reveal the best players for Gameweek 12.

Taking a look back at the head-to-head data to find some of the best players for Gameweek 12 could be really helpful to managers. Picking out assets who have great records against their upcoming opponent can help with transfers, captaincy and even chip strategy.

Only three players make the cut this week. This is because there is a lack of headed-to-head data in the other fixtures.

Bukayo Saka v Burnley

Arsenal have a great opportunity to bounce back this week after their loss against Newcastle. They come up against strugglers Burnley next. The Gooners have one player that has a good record against promoted sides.

As we can see, between 2020-2021 in the 10 matches Bukayo Saka (£8.6m) played against promoted sides he bagged a return in six of them. What is interesting is that he also hit three consecutive double-digit hauls against them.

Bruno Fernandes v Luton

Manchester United could make it two wins on the bounce as they come up against the Hatters this week. Luton have been very poor since promotion and as we can see midfielder Bruno Fernandes (£8.3m) has an impressive record against promoted sides.

In fact, in the 14 matches Fernandes played against promoted sides between 2019-2021 he picked up at least one return in eight of them. Last season Fernandes also managed 31 points against them with one goal and two assists.

Marcus Rashford v Luton

The Manchester United success could continue this week heading into their meeting with Luton. Another of their assets who has a good record against promoted sides is Marcus Rashford (£8.6m). The midfielder has banked just two returns all season and will also be hoping to bounce back after a recent benching.

Between 2018-2019 in the eight matches he played against newly promoted teams Rashford claimed a return in seven of them. His returns consisted of six goals and seven assists. Last season he also managed 26 points against them from two goals and one assist.
