Early thoughts

Matchday 3 is currently underway. Netherlands v USA, Argentina v Australia, France v Poland and England v Senegal. For me, there are clear favourites in all of these matches. For that reason, I have already focused on Netherlands, Argentina, France and England for the next stage.

Players to target

Netherlands goalkeeper Andries Noppert (£4.5m), defender Denzel Dumfries (£6m), midfielder Davy Klassen (£6m), forwards Cody Gakpo (£7m) and Memphis Depay (£8.5m) are the standout options from Netherlands.

Argentina defender Nahuel Molina (£5.5m), midfielders Enzo Fernandez (£6m) and Angel Di Maria (£8.5m) and forward Lionel Messi (£10.5m) are the standout options from Argentina.

France defender Theo Hernandez (£5m), midfielder Adren Rabiot (£6.5m) and strikers Kylian Mbappe (£11.5m) and Olivier Giroud (£7.5m) are the standout options for France.

England defenders Luke Shaw (£5m) and Kieran Trippier (£5m), midfielders Bukayo Saka (£8m) and Phil Foden (£8.5m) and forward Harry Kane (£11m) are the standout options from England.

Summary

I will be looking at all of the players above. There is a nice mix of budget enablers and premiums already there. As Matchday 3 progresses, I will be adding to my shortlist but also take into account team paths.
