Buy, Sell and Keep for Gameweek 29

In this article we focus on buy, sell or keep for Gameweek 29. We dive into the Fantasy Football Scout Members area to use the fixture ticker and underlying stats with intention of categorising key assets as a buy, sell or keep for Gameweek 29.

Debating which players are a buy, sell or keep for Gameweek 29 could be quite challenging. There are lots of factors to include this week from the massive Blank Gameweek ahead and the fixtures after, so lets dive in.

Buy

  • Tottenham – In great form recently Spurs have won three of their last four matches and scored a cool 10 goals. They have a fixture in the Blank Gameweek ahead and it’s a good one as they go head-to-head with fellow London side Fulham. Those targeting a defensive assets could look to Pedro Porro (£5.7m). Porro banked a seven-pointer upon his return from injury in the last match. He has also produced more attempts on goal than any other defender so far this season. For those with less budget then fellow full-back Destiny Udogie (£4.9m) could a great option. No defender has had more touches in the opponents box so far this campaign than Udogie. To target the inconsistent Fulham defence the standout option is Son Heung-Min (£9.9m) who takes penalties and collected a mammoth 17 points in his most recent match. Pairing him up with James Maddison (£8m) if possible could be a shrewd move. Maddison has picked up a return in four of his last six matches, highlighting a good period of form.
  • Aston Villa – Aston Villa will be hoping to bounce back after being plucked apart in a 4-0 loss against Spurs. Not only do they have a fixture this week but they come up against a West Ham side who have shipped 16 goals in the last six matches. With that in mind investing in the Aston Villa attack could be a wise move. Now, most FPL managers own Ollie Watkins (£9m), the current highest scoring player in the game. So, to actually gain rank from the Aston Villa frontline it could be worth looking at Douglas Luiz (£5.7m). Luiz doesn’t just take penalties but he has also picked up returns in four of his last six matches. A less safe in terms of gametime but more positionally advanced option than Luiz is teammate and fellow midfielder Leon Bailey (£5.7m). The Jamaican has also managed to return in four of his last last six games.
  • Luton – The Hatters have a home match next up which is a venue they tend to enhance their performances at. They face Nottingham Forest next up who as well as being defensively inconsistent, have also failed to score in any of their last three matches in all competitions. Because of that and his fantastic distribution data, wing-back Alfie Doughty (£4.7m) could have multiple routes to points this week. In attack the standout option and spearheading the frontline is penalty taker Carlton Morris (£5.2m). At the time of writing Morris has also managed five returns in his last six matches so has the form to back him.
  • West Ham – Although defensively questionable the Hammers have netted nine goals in their last three games. The in-form West Ham frontline have a great opportunity to continue their form with a match against an Aston Villa side who have shipped eight goals in their last three matches. To take advantage of that Jarrod Bowen (£7.9m) appears to be the best pick. Bowen has racked up an impressive three goals and one assist in his last three league matches. Alternatively, fellow midfielder Mohammed Kudus (£6.8m) could also have potential. The Ghanian has accumulated more attempts on goal than his teammates in the last six Gameweeks and has also registered two assists in his last three games.
  • Ivan Toney (£8.1m) – Toney may not have returned in any of his last four matches but in the five games prior to that he managed five returns. The Brentford penalty taker also comes up against one of the weakest defences in the league this week in Burnley which could signal a return to form.

Sell

  • Bukayo Saka (£9.2m) – With a Blank Gameweek this week and a fixture against Manchester City immediately after that it could be worth selling to open up a slot for an asset who plays this week and has a good fixture after that. Be warned though, Saka has been one of the best assets in the game this season so having a plan to bring him back in could be vital.
  • Manchester City attackers – Manchester City do not have a fixture this week then face a tough fixture against Arsenal. Taking that into account and the fact they are blocking other options who play this week it could be time to sell the likes of Kevin De Bruyne (£10.5m)Phil Foden (£8.2m) and Erling Haaland (£14.4m). However, similar to Saka, having a plan to bring them back into our teams after that could be crucial.
  • Brighton – Brighton have been inconsistent recently but the fact they Blank this week then face Liverpool immediately after is enough reason to sell their assets. It could be time for players like defender Pervis Estupinan (£4.9m) and midfielder Pascal Gross (£6.6m) to go long-term.
  • Anthony Gordon (£6.1m) – Gordon seems to have been playing with an injury for some time now and left the pitch before half time in his most recent match. Because of that and his Blank Gameweek ahead, he could be a sell.

Hold

  • Gabriel (£5.3m) – Arsenal may blank then play Manchester City after that but the lack of defender options looking ahead makes Gabriel an easy hold. Gabriel plays for the best defence in the league and has been one the most reliable assets in the game so far this season.
  • Dominic Solanke (£7.2m) – Bournemouth do not have a fixture this week. However, after the Blank they face Everton, Luton and Crystal Palace in the three fixtures after that. With that in mind it could be worth keeping Solanke, but only if that doesn’t block a move for another asset with big potential.
  • Cole Palmer (£5.7m) – Chelsea also have a Blank Gameweek this week but they have meetings with Burnley, Manchester United and Sheffield United after that. Because of that, his penalty taking duty and his talismanic role for the Blues, Palmer could be worth hanging onto.
