Which Players are Due Goal in Gameweek 29?

Picking out the players that look likely to score in an FPL gameweek is a big part of management. Using recent underlying stats from the Fantasy Football Scout, we assess which players are due a goal in Gameweek 29.

Recent FPL Goals

Some attackers are in great form over the last four Gameweeks:

  • Five goals: Ollie Watkins
  • Four goals: Kai Havertz
  • Three goals: Jarrod Bowen, Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka and Yoane Wissa.

However, others are shooting and getting into the right places without having either luck or end product. So let’s take a look at the players who have met one of the following criteria over these four:

  • No more than one goal
  • At least eight shots
  • At least two big chances
  • An expected goals (xG) tally of 1.10
  • An expected goal involvement (xGI) of 1.30

Due a Goal in Gameweek 29

Ivan Toney (£8.1m) stands out as one of the most significant players due a goal this week. This is because he is one of few players who actually have a fixture. The Bees come up against newly promoted side Burnley next which gives Toney a good opportunity to improve on the one goal he has managed from 15 total attempts, eight shots in the box and three big chances total.

Meanwhile, another player underperforming and due a goal in Gameweek 29 is Mohammed Kudus (£6.8m). Although the West Ham midfielder managed two assists in last four he also failed to score from 15 attempts on goal, seven shots in the box and two big chances total.

Nottingham Forest midfielder Anthony Elanga (£5.1m) has also underperformed recently. Elanga mustered up a huge 1.86 expected goals in the last four matches but failed to convert. This week could be where he cashes in on that as he faces a poor Luton defence next up.

Other players due a goal based on the criteria above include:

  • Leon Bailey (£5.7m)
  • Lucas Paqueta (£6m)
  • Harry Wilson (£5.3m)
  • Chiedozie Ogbene (£4.9m)
