Top 10 Most Popular FPL Picks for Gameweek 13

The new round is approaching and many within the community have started making early changes to their teams. Because of this we check out the highest owned players in the game and pick out the top 10 most popular FPL picks for Gameweek 13 with the help of the Fantasy Premier League website.

Player ownership has become a massive part of Fantasy Premier League so knowing the top 10 most popular FPL picks for Gameweek 13 can help when it comes to making hard decisions regarding the use of transfers, captaincy and more.

The Top Five

  • Erling Haaland (83.2%) – The Manchester City striker has been in top form recently – racking up at least two goals in four of his last five matches. He faces a huge match against Liverpool at home next up and goes into the game as the highest owned player in FPL.
  • Bukayo Saka (50.3%) – Arsenal will be hoping to make it their second win on the bounce this week against Brentford. Saka sits second in the top five. The midfielder has picked up at least one return in nine of his first 11 matches showing brilliant coinsistency.
  • Kieran Trippier (50%) – Newcastle are hampered with injuries at the moment. However, the Magpies have been maintaining one of the best defences in the league so far. Trippier has clean sheet potential but he also ranks as the most creative player in his position. He will have to try to find some success against an in-form Chelsea side this week.
  • Mohamed Salah (46.4%) – The Egyptian sits as the fourth highest owned player in the game as we approach Gameweek 13. Liverpool have a mammoth clash against Manchester City next up. With that in mind they will look to their most in-form attacker for goals. Salah has notched up at least one return in 10 of his first 12 fixtures.
  • Ollie Watkins (43.4%) – Aston Villa go into their big meeting with Tottenham ranking as one of the highest scorers in the league so far. Watkins remains the second highest owned striker in the game after a fantastic start to the campaign – scoring six goals and producing five assists.

Who is else is highly owned?

  • Son Heung-min (40.4%) – Many could be questioning the Tottenham midfielder as an asset without teammate James Maddison moving forward. Son has Aston Villa in the round ahead and although very good offensively they have been leaking plenty of goals recently. He will be looking to add a fifth double-digit haul this season.
  • Alphonse Areola (37.3%) – Many flocked to the West Ham goalkeeper due to his £4.3m price-tag and the nice fixtures. However, since the start of the season Areola has managed just one clean sheet. Areola has a good opportunity to make it two clean sheets this week as they face newly promoted side Burnley up next.
  • Kaoru Mitoma (36.9%) – Brighton have a great fixture against Nottingham Forest in Gameweek 13. Their standout asset is Mitoma who picked up an injury in the international break. With that in mind it could be wise to monitor news surrounding his injury status.
  • Matty Cash (33.7%) – Cash is the second and final defender to make it into the top 10 highest owned players ahead of the new round. The Aston Villa full-back has collected just one return in his last five matches. Because of this Cash could well be on the chopping block for some managers.
  • Julian Alvarez (32.1%) – There is no telling how the clash between Liverpool and Manchester City will go this week. However, it’s a match that usually promises goals. The Argentinian forward has collected returns in half of his last six matches.
