There’s big prize money on offer every day that there’s a Premier League game, with the headline Gameweek 9 event being the Saturday EPL Wonder Strike, which tends to include all of the action from the 3pm kick-offs onwards. It’s 7-a-side, with four attacking players and three defensive, including a goalkeeper. Here’s the key details for this weekend’s tournament.

EPL Wonder Strike Saturday 19th October

There are seven games on offer, from Saturday’s 3pm kick-offs, plus the late game Crystal Palace vs Manchester City. There’s a £15,000 prize pool in return for your £4 entry fee, with the winner getting £2,500 and the top ten all scooping over £50. Prizes pay out to over the first 1,000 entrants. Gameweek 9 Player Picks

Gameweek 9 Player Picks

All-Rounder: Callum Wilson vs Norwich (H)

Callum Wilson is our all-round tip in the Gameweek 9 player picks. He’s got plenty of potential to score us fantasy points, with five goals and three assists this season. He’s had eight shots on target in his last four games, which is second in the league and Paddy Power’s scoring format awards an additional 5 points for each of these.

Coverage: David Silva vs Crystal Palace (A)

We couldn’t resist a ticket into the Manchester City attack and David Silva comes in at a budget friendly £14, to allow more options elsewhere. He’s likely to start off the back of a rest in the International Break . He’s created nine chances for Manchester City this season, with 3 points awarded for each one.

Big Chances Created: Raul Jimenez vs Southampton (H)

Wolves have an easy home fixture this weekend and should have plenty of energy with many of their key assets getting a vital rest during the break, including main striker Raul Jimenez. He’s created three big chances in his last four games, which is behind only Roberto Firmino and Kevin De Bruyne. He got two assists against Manchester City last time out.

Assist Potential: Anwar El Ghazi vs Brighton (H)

Aston Villa are bang in form from an attacking perspective, with creator El Ghazi amassing one goal and three assists from the nine goals the Lions have scored in their last three games. Only Kevin De Bruyne has more assists in this period of games and El Ghazi has also created three big chances in this period. He looks to be a steal at just £13.

Crossing King: Diego Rico vs Norwich (H)

The bookies rank Bournemouth at 13/5 to keep a clean sheet, but it is attacking returns that could really help Rico’s cause, with two assists already this season. Defenders are awarded 7 points for an assist, which is 2 points more than for a clean sheet. The underlying statistics are there too, with 11 successful crosses and three big chances created from his last four games. There’s 3 points on offer for each big chance, and the Spaniard has ten from his last four games!

Legend Status: Marcos Alonso vs Newcastle (H)

FPL legend Marcos Alonso has two assists and one clean sheet since breaking into the team just four weeks ago, capitalising on an injury to Emerson. If he can retain his place, the points really should rain in. In this spell, he’s taken three shots and contributed eight key passes too. Chelsea are currently 10/11 to keep a clean sheet.

Match Winner: Kasper Schmeichel vs Burnley (H)

With a huge seven points on offer for a win, plus ten points for a clean sheet, choosing the right goalkeeper could be the big difference this weekend. Leicester have won three of their four home games this campaign, with Burnley failing to achieve on the road. Schmeichel has two clean sheets to his name and has made 22 saves this season, each one in Paddy Power Fantasy earns three points. Leicester are 4/9 to win this game, and 10/11 to keep a clean sheet.
