Fantasy Football Scout: Which FPL players are banned or near suspension?

WHEN ARE THE CUT-OFF POINTS FOR AN FPL SUSPENSION?

Taken from the Football Association website, each five-caution threshold has a cut-off point.

Note that 19 Premier League matches does not necessarily mean Gameweek 19. Players from Man City and Brentford have until the end of Gameweek 20 – their 19th fixture – to avoid reaching five bookings.

Punishments for yellow card accumulation are competition-specific, whereas suspensions for dismissals cover EFL Cup and FA Cup games too.

CURRENTLY BANNED

Although Destiny Udogie has served his suspension, team-mate Cristian Romero still has two matches to go. Joining him in multiple-game bans is Fabio Vieira and Mahmoud Dahoud.

Meanwhile, Craig Dawson, Joao Palhinha and Yves Bissouma each collected their fifth bookings of the season during Gameweek 12. They’ll miss one round.

There’s also the longer-term bans of Ivan Toney and Sandro Tonali, out until January and August of next year.

NEARING SUSPENSION

There are 20 players who are sitting on four yellow cards, including the double-digit ownerships of Douglas Luiz and Bruno Fernandes. Budget defenders Jarrad Branthwaite and Issa Kabore are also precariously placed.

31 are slightly further back, on three cautions. The most significant of these names are Kieran Trippier, Matty Cash and Kaoru Mitoma, each in over 33% of squads. Chelsea’s in-form Cole Palmer has already picked up a trio of yellow from just six starts.
