FPL Experts Ahead of the Gameweek 36

We bring in the FPL experts ahead of Gameweek 36. It has been a whirlwind Gameweek 35 with lots of shocks and surprises of which some of the best managers and biggest personalities in the FPL community have reacted to. They also highlight players, teams and chips looking ahead.

Catching up with some FPL experts ahead of Gameweek 36 could be hugely beneficial for fantasy managers. From them we can emphasise some of the best and worst performances which can then have an effect on future planning.

@Pras_fpl

Gameweek 35 opened up with a meeting between West Ham and Liverpool, two sides hoping to bounce back from recent poor results. Prior to the round many on a Wildcard decided they were done with Liverpool assets due to both form and the lack of double Gameweeks.

Those that opted for the above had their decision justified when both Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez failed to start the match. Although featuring, both also failed to make an impact and finished with one point.

As Pras suggests, it could be the last season of Salah in FPL, a player who will undoubtedly go down as the best asset in history.

Another team significant to Wildcarders this week was Manchester United. Prior to the round the Reds had a schedule of Burnley, Crystal Palace and a double Gameweek of Arsenal and Newcastle in Gameweek 37.

With that in mind, and taking into account his recent form, Bruno Fernandes was amongst the most bought players this week. As FPL Olympian highlighted, Fernandes was exceptional against Burnley this week and although picking up a couple of bonus points, he couldn’t convert his data into a goal contribution.

Bruno owners will of course be frustrated. However, his performance shows huge promise going into a game against Crystal Palace this week.

Sonaldo was one of many managers who benefitted from Newcastle assets this week. The Magpies were heavily hyped ahead of Gameweek 35, and rightly so as they hosted Sheffield United. Although the Blades struck early to wipe out the clean sheet, Newcastle replied with a huge five goals.

As we can see below, both Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon were involved in the goals. With Burnley up next, a double in Gameweek 37 and Brentford on the final day, the duo could end up being the highest owned double up in FPL as we finish the season.

Wildcarders had a lot of success this week. But, one key moment caused some frustration amongst them. Everton went into the round with the second most clean sheets in the league. They maintained that record with a 1-0 win over Brentford.

The above meant that assets like Jarrod Branthwaite and Jordan Pickford rewarded their owners. The same managers who opted against an Everton defender may have to hope for the best this week. With a game against Luton next up the Toffees have another great opportunity to repeat their defensive success.

@FPLMarcin

Gameweek 35 saw a double Gameweek for both Chelsea and Tottenham. This of course meant that many within the community showed a lot of interest. The first game against Aston Villa was a tough one for the Blues and the game ended 2-2.

Although Chelsea scored Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer failed to get amongst the goals. This was even more frustrating for those who owned the latter. Palmer was the favoured captain amongst managers this week and with one game left he has lots to do.

Those who were brave enough to bring in either Noni Madueke or Conor Gallagher would have been happy. Both managed to score, which could indicate that backing a differential moving forward could well pay off.
