FPL Budget Players for Gameweek 11

We pick out the best FPL budget players for Gameweek 11. With the help of the Fantasy Football Scout fixture ticker and underlying stats we provide some of the best cheap players, whether that be goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders or forwards for the round ahead.

Finding some of the best FPL budget players for Gameweek 11 can be extremely useful to managers. Cheap players are vital when it comes to trying to fit in the more expensive options and can even be great standalone assets.

Kostas Tsimikas

Liverpool may have been ropey in the early stages of the season but they are improving defensively. In fact the Reds have bagged two consecutive clean sheets and have crept into the top six teams in the league for expected goals conceded (12.16).

Luton are up next for Liverpool and it’s not been an ideal start to life in the top tier for them. The Hatters are amongst the worst teams in the league offensively and they also sit as the worst side for total shots on target (22).

There’s a great chance Liverpool keep their third clean sheet in a row this week against Luton. With that in mind finding a cheap way in the defence could be beneficial. Kostas Tsimikas provides us with exactly that as he comes in at just £4.6m. The Greek international looks set to replace the injured Andy Robertson long-term as well.

Wolves assets

Wolves are quietly going about their business recently. In their last five matches they have won two and drawn three, remaining unbeaten. Although lacking in clean sheets Wolves have netted in every game bar one so far this season.

Most of the Wolves appeal this week is due to their upcoming fixture against Sheffield United. The Blades are really struggling – picking up just a single point from their first 10 games. They are also maintaining some of the worst offensive and defensive stats in the league.

Wolves have an array of cheap options but the standout in defence this week could be Craig Dawson (£4.5m). As well as clean sheet potential Dawson is a direct goal threat – ranking joint sixth amongst defenders for total attempts on goal (eight) and joint sixth for shots in the box (six). This is very relevant because Sheffield United also rank the worst in the league for headed attempts conceded (40) and joint worst for attempts from set plays conceded (54).

The defensive data of Sheffield United is a real concern but it makes the Wolves budget attackers more enticing. One option to consider could be Matheus Cunha (£5.5m) who has bagged two returns in his last four games. The standout option in attack is without a doubt midfielder Hwang Hee-Chan (£5.5m) who has managed a return in all of his last six games bar one.

Douglas Luiz

Aston Villa are in the midst of a wonderful run of form which has seen them sit fifth in the Premier League. One of Villa’ strengths lay in their attack – ranking joint first in the league for goals scored so far this season.

Nottingham Forest are up next for Aston Villa. Things have been downhill for Forest lately as they are winless in all of their last six matches. In the same six matches they also conceded two or more goals in three of them which could highlight them as a team to target.

There aren’t many options in FPL as cheap as Douglas Luiz (£5.6m) who also takes their sides penalties. He also takes set pieces for his club as well so already has several routes to points. In terms of actual output Luiz has racked up four returns in his last six games including two double-digit hauls.
