FPL: Best budget players for Gameweek 16

We pick out the best budget players for Gameweek 16. With the help of the Fantasy Football Scout fixture ticker and underlying stats we provide some of the best cheap players, whether that be goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders or forwards for the round ahead.

Finding some of the best budget players for Gameweek 16 can be extremely useful to managers. Cheap players are vital when it comes to trying to fit in the more expensive options and can even be great standalone assets.

Fixtures

Below we can see the ticker in order of fixture difficulty. The teams at the top have the easiest fixtures and the teams at the bottom have the toughest fixtures.

Simon Adingra

Brighton have got a very good chance to take all three points against one of the three disappointing promoted sides this week. Burnley have been struggling since re-joining the top tier and currently rank the second worst in the league for goals conceded.

Because of the above and how efficient Brighton can be in front of goal midfielder Simon Adingra (£5m) could be a fantastic budget enabler. Although rotation is rife in the Brighton team Adingra has started their last seven league matches. He also scored in one of his most recent games against Sheffield United, another promoted side.

Chelsea

Chelsea could become one of the most popular teams to invest in for the period ahead. The Blues have fought their way through a tough set of fixtures – beating the likes of Brighton, Tottenham and drawing to Manchester City.

Overall this season Chelsea rank amongst the best teams for both defensive and offensive underlying data. They go into Gameweek 16 with a game against Everton next which could be good time to invest in their cheaper assets.

At the back, whilst many struggle for goalkeepers David Sanchez (£4.6m) could offer himself up as a solid option between the sticks. For those looking for a defender then Levi Colwill (£4.5m) could be a great option. Colwill also scored in one of his most recent matches showing he has some goal threat.

One of the standout attackers in the Chelsea frontline is Cole Palmer (£5.3m). Palmer has secured penalty taking duty which is a huge appeal. More importantly, Palmer isn’t just the penalty taker but he is also one of the Blues most promising in terms of goal involvement – ranking second in the last six Gameweeks amongst his offensive teammates.

Alejandro Garnacho

It is very difficult trying to find a midfielder who starts, has potential and is priced at under £5m. Last season managers had the pleasure of owning Andreas Pereira of Fulham who offered exactly that. This season, if his gametime continues we may have found another who matches that criteria.

Manchester United have a great fixture to attack this week. The Cherries have maintained one of the worst defences in the league and we can see that in the fact they rank second worst for goals scored so far.

Alejandro Garnacho (£4.7m) seems to be playing a lot of gametime for the Reds recently – starting their last four league matches. Garnacho has become one of Manchester United’ most exciting and promising attackers since forcing his way into the frontline. He also netted a wonder goal in one of his most recent matches.
