Best Liverpool Players from Gameweek 30 and onwards

In this article we take a look at the best Liverpool players from Gameweek 30 and onwards. To do this we head over to the Fantasy Football Scout Members area to utilise its amazing fixture ticker and underlying stats.

Liverpool are coming into an interesting run of fixtures and some of their assets are gaining some serious appeal within the community. Because of that knowing who the best players from Gameweek 30 and onwards are could be extremely beneficial.

The Liverpool Fixtures

The Fantasy Football Scout Fixture Ticker suggests that Liverpool have the fourth best fixtures from now until Gameweek 34. They come up against Brighton, Sheffield United, Manchester United and Crystal Palace.

What the fixture ticker does not display is that Liverpool are also very likely to have a Double in Gameweek 34 against Fulham and Everton. This would of course give them six fixtures in the next five rounds.

Liverpool

Liverpool have been excellent this season. The Reds sit second in the Premier League after winning 19, drawing four and losing four of their games. In terms of their overall defensive and offensive underlying data overall when compared to every other team they rank:

  • Second best for goals scored
  • First for expected goals
  • First for total attempts on goal
  • First for shots in the box
  • First for big chances total
  • Second best for goals conceded
  • Third best for expected goals conceded
  • Second best for clean sheets.

Goalkeepers

First team goalkeeper Alisson (£5.8m) missed out on the last several league matches due to a hamstring injury. Unfortunately, or at least at the time of writing, a specific data is yet to be released in regards to his return.

Back-up goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher (£3.8m) has been covering for his Brazilian teammate whilst out. Interestingly, Since the Irish man took over Liverpool have managed just one clean sheet in their last five matches.

Kelleher is a cheap route into an overall elite Liverpool defence. However, the fact we do not have a return date for Alisson would be slightly concerning upon investing. Alternatively, FPL managers could pair Kelleher with another goalkeeper and when he inevitably loses his place to Alisson, they have a fall-back option.

Defenders

Those looking to invest in the Liverpool defence, look no further. Firstly it could be crucial to compare the defenders minutes. This gives us a better idea on who could be reliable in terms of gametime.

Leading his teammates for both starts and minutes played is Virgil Van Dijk (£6.5m).

Trent Alexander-Arnold (£8.5m) sits in second place however has failed to start the last four league matches. This is mainly due to a knee injury which is expected to keep him out until April 7th (around Gameweek 32). Covering Trent whilst out is 20-year-old Conor Bradley (£4.1m) who has started six matches so far this season.

Another player who has been rotated due to his injury is left-back Andy Robertson (£6.4m). Robertson has started on just 11 occasions.

We also compared the same defenders from an attacking point of view.

Edging his teams for goals and assists this season is Trent Alexander Arnold. Virgil Van Dijk trails Trent with two goals and two assists.

Interestingly, although Conor Bradley has started far less matches than both options above, he has still managed four attacking returns.

Attackers

We now put our focus towards the attackers using the same process to compare.

We can see that, to the potential surprise of many, Luiz Diaz (£7.5m) sits above every other teammate for both minutes and starts. Two starts behind Diaz is Mohamed Salah (£13.1m) who is the only other Liverpool attacker to have completed more than 1800 minutes this season.

Sitting third with 17 starts and having played 1617 minutes is Darwin Nunez (£7.5m).

It may come as no surprise that Mohamed Salah tops his teammates for goals and assists. Sitting second with 17 is Darwin Nunez and five behind the striker is Diogo Jota.

Best Liverpool Players from Gameweek 30 and onwards

There could be a lot of change at the back for Liverpool over the coming weeks. For those that don’t mind having to transfer them out in the period ahead then the likes of Caoimhin Kelleher and Conor Bradley could be excellent cheap short-term options. For managers looking to invest in a more safer and long-term pick then Vigil Van Dijk could be the standout.

In attack it is clear that the most efficient attacker is penalty taker Mohamed Salah. Darwin Nunez could be the next best option due to how effective he has been so far. An alternative option could be Luis Diaz who seems to be starting a huge amount of games this season, although his output is much less convincing.

We take a look at how essential Mohamed Salah is moving forward in our article here.
