@FplMode
Fantasy Football Scout contributor Andy touched upon something very disappointing in Matchday 4. Many within the community were unsure who to place as their £6m midfielder this week. Many backed Dutch midfielder Davy Klaassen (£6m).
Davy Klaassen impressed during the group stages. The Netherland player managed to pick up one goal and two assists in that period. For that reason, the community felt he had potential. However, after an awful performance, Klaassen came off at half time.
@GianniButtice
Fantasy Football Scout contributor Gianni highlighted the performance of defender Denzel Dumfries (£6m) in Matchday 4. Dumfries was underwhelming in the group stages and failed to return a single goal contribution.
Dumfries group stage performances were enough for many managers to avoid in the last 16 but finally showed what he is capable of. The wing back managed to pick up two assists and score a goal to take his total to 14 points whilst punishing his sellers.
@DreadFPL
Well respected and Twitter community contributor @DreadFPL picks out two key players from Matchday 4. Striker Memphis Depay (£8.5m) failed to start the first two group matches due to fitness, but his recovery and form are on the rise.
Depay started in Matchday 3, missing some big chances, the Dutchman only created one assist against Qatar. However, when his team needed him the most he was there. Depay scored a goal, meaning he picked up seven points. Will the community be tempted to bring him in with a quarter final clash against Argentina ahead?
@Konate_FPL
Fantasy Football Community contributor Kon shared the same view as many in the community. Striker Lionel Messi (£10.5m) has been fantastic so far, scoring two goals and creating one assist ahead of the new round.
Messi’s form continued when he scored a brilliant goal, rewarding all of the players who captained him in their World Cup Fantasy teams. However, it should have been more. Messi provided four key passes in the game and striker Lautaro Martinez (£8m) missed two huge chances to score, meaning Messi’s output dwindled.
