His goal against Arsenal puts him in a good position to try and secure the trophy as well as Champions League football for next season. Since Gameweek 26 Son is the top scoring player in the game with 12 goals, two ahead of teammate Harry Kane. His 17 attacking returns is the second best across the game in this period with only Kane having more with 18.

In this period Son is tied 13th for goal attempts with 29. This is 20 less than teammate Kane, however his 12 goals suggest that he is being clinical with the chances that he is given. This can be seen in his gaol conversion rate which stands at 41.4 then highest of any player in the game who has made more than 10 appearances.

Son has a good record against Gameweek 37 opponents Burnley. Son has returned back-to-back double digit hauls in his last two matches at home to Burnley. Registering 11 and 12 points from one goal, three assists and three bonus points. Indeed Son has returned three double digit hauls in his last four matches against the Clarets.

Mo Salah

Liverpool have the FA Cup final ahead of the Gameweek 37 deadline. Of course the outcome of the final could impact Salah’s appeal as captain. The midfielder has now been benched in each of the last two Gameweeks, ahead of the cup final and the Champions League.

Salah is top for expected goals (xG) and expected goal involvement (xGI) since Gameweek 26. In the same period the midfielder is top for goal attempts with 46 and penalty area touches with 108.

The Midfielder played Southampton in Gameweek 37 with Liverpool needing to win the game to stay in the race for the League title. With Man City having the better goal difference Liverpool also need to ensure that they score plenty of goals in the final two Gameweeks of the season. This bodes well for Salah’s minutes and returns.

Salah has returned in seven of his nine meetings with Southampton in the Premier League. In that time he has averaged 8.44 points per match against the Saints. Salah’s seven goals, three assists and eight bonus points against Southampton make him a great captaincy option this weekend.

Wilf Zaha

Crystal Palace and Wilf Zaha play twice in Gameweek 37. The Eagles have two away matches against Aston Villa and Everton. Zaha has score eight goals in his last 13 matches in the Premier League. However, his recent form is more impressive.

In his last two starts the midfielder has had 20 shots, seven of which have been on target. In addition he has also created six chances for his teammates.

An additional appeal for Zaha is his penalty duty. Zaha has taken seven penalty kicks this season, a total which is joint top across the league.

Zaha is also fourth for outfield player for xG between Gameweek 31 and 36. However, all three of the players with a better xG than him are forwards in the game. He is the top midfielder for xG in this period.
