What to expect from the Gameweek 34 fixtures

With Gameweek 33 underway it’s time to turn our attention to Gameweek 34. With a number of midweek matches to come ahead of the next deadline it will be important for managers to have a plan ready to initiate quickly in the limited between the two Gameweeks. We take a look at what to expect from the Gameweek 34 fixtures.

Gameweek 34 is a normal Gameweek, with all 20 teams just playing the one match.

All of the stats in this article include data up to and including Gameweek 32.

Gameweek 34 fixtures: Arsenal v Man United

There have been 59 previous meetings in the Premier League between Arsenal and Man United. The Manchester team have won 25 of the previous meetings, Arsenal 16 and there have been 18 draws.

The last three meetings between the sides have seen one draw and a win for both teams. In the reverse of this fixture back in December Man United won by three goals to two. Both sides have been in a difficult run of form, with both clubs losing their Gameweek 32 fixtures. Arsenal have now lost three of their last five Premier League matches.

Across these two teams Cristiano Ronaldo is thetop goal scorer with 12. Ronaldo’s teammate Bruno Fernandes is tied second with Bakuyo Saka with nine goals each. Paul Pogba first for assists with nine so far this season. Alexandre Lacazette is second with seven and Fernandes third with six.

On average this season Man United create 1.87 chances per match, more than the 1.13 Arsenal create on average.

Defensively Arsenal have kept 13 clean sheets this season, in comparison to seven for United. However, Arsenal have been dealt a blow defensively with Keiran Tierney ruled out for the rest of the season.

Gameweek 34 fixtures: Leicester v Aston Villa

There have been 25 previous meetings in the Premier League between Leicester and Aston Villa . The Foxes have won 10 of these, Villa have collected three points six times and there have been nine draws.

The last two fixtures between these sides have finished 2-1. Four of the last five fixtures have contained at least three goals. Aston Villa won the reverse of this fixture earlier on in the season.

Across these two teams injured Jamie Vardy is the top goal scorers with 10. James Maddison is second with eight and Ollie Watkins is third with six. Harvey Barnes is top for assists with six, Kelechi Iheanacho and Danny Ings are second with five.

On average this season Leicester create 1.24 chances per match, slightly more than the 1.16 Villa create on average.

Defensively Villa have kept nine clean sheets this season, in comparison to just five for Leicester.

Aston Villa will go in to this match well rested, as the Villans did not have a fixture in Gameweek 33.

Gameweek 34 fixtures: Man City v Watford

There have been 13 previous meetings in the Premier League between Man City and Watford. City have won 11 matches and there has been two draws.

The Manchester club have won all of the last five meetings between the two sides in the League. When the two sides met in December City won the game 3-1. Indeed in the last five games in the league Man City have scored 20 goals.

Man City have drawn two of their last five Premier League matches. Watford have lost four and won just once.

Across these two teams Kevin De Bruyne is the top goal scorers with 11. Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez are second with ten goals each. Gabriel Jesus is top for assists this season with 7. Joao Cancelo is second with six and Emmanuel Dennis has five.

On average this season Man City create 2.16 chances per match, more than the 1.35 Watford create on average.

Defensively City have kept 18 clean sheets this season, in comparison to just three for Watford.

Gameweek 34 fixtures: Norwich v Newcastle

There have been 17 matches between these two teams in the Premier League. Newcastle have won seven, Norwich have won five and there have been five draws. The last two meetings between these sides have resulted in draws.

Both of these sides won their Gameweek 32 fixtures, with Norwich having picked up four points in their last three matches.

Across these two teams Teemu Pukki has scored the most goals with nine. Injured Callum Wilson is second with six, and Allen Saint-Maximin is third with five. Ryan Fraser and Saint-Maximin are top for assists this season with three, however the former picked up a hamstring injury in Gameweek 32 which managers should be mindful of. Javier Manquillo is third with two.

On average this season Newcastle create 0.77 chances per match, however, their chances created tally has increased since the arrival of Eddie Howe. Norwich create on average 0.61 chances per match.

Defensively Norwich have kept six clean sheets this season, in comparison to just five for Newcastle.

Gameweek 34 fixtures: Brentford v Tottenham

There has only been one meeting in the Premier League between Brentford and Tottenham. This was the reverse of this fixture earlier on in the season when Spurs won 2-0 back in December.

Since then however Brentford have signed ex-Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen until the end of the season.

Both these sides are in a good run of form having won four of their last five matches in the Premier League. Indeed Brentford have won both of their last two London derbies against West Ham and Chelsea. Meanwhile Spurs have scored 16 goals in their last five games.

Across these two teams Son Heung-Min is the top scorer with 17 goals. Harry Kane and Ivan Toney are tied second with 12 each. Kane is top for assists this season with eight. Bryan Mbeumo is second with seven and January signing Dejan Kulusevski is third with six.

On average Spurs create 2.19 chances per match. In contrast Brentford create 1.19 chances on average, however their creativity has improved since the arrival of Eriksen.

Spurs have kept 12 clean sheets in comparison to seven for Brentford. Both sides kept a clean sheet in Gameweek 32.

Gameweek 34 fixtures: Brighton v Southampton

There have been nine previous meetings in the Premier League between Brighton and Southampton. Southampton have won three, Brighton have taken all three points just once and there have been five draws.

The last four matches between these two teams have finished with tight results.

Both sides have had a difficult set of results in the last five matches. However Brighton have now picked up four points in their last two matches ahead of Gameweek 33’s double.

Across these two teams Neal Maupay is the top goal scorers with eight. Che Adams and James Ward-Prowse are tied second with seven goals each. Nathan Redmond is top for assists with five. Enock Mwepu and Ward-Prowse are tied second with four each.

On average this season Southampton create 1.32 chances per match. In comparison Brighton create 1.19.

Defensively Brighton have kept eight clean sheets, meanwhile Southampton have kept seven. .

Gameweek 34 fixtures: Burnley v Wolves

There have been nine meetings in the Premier League between Burnley and Wolves. Both sides have won three matches and there have been three draws.

Burnley have lost four of their last five in the Premier League, whilst Wolves have won three. The reverse of this fixture ended in a 0-0 draw back in December.

Across these two teams Maxwell Cornet is the top goal scorer with seven goals. Raul Jimenez is second with six and Hwang Hee-Chan is third with five. Daniel Podence, Jimenez and Ashley Westwood are tied for the most assists at these two clubs with just three.

On average this season Burnley create 1.1 chances per match, just more than the 1.09 that Wolves create on average.

Wolves have kept a remarkable 11 clean sheets this season. Burnley in comparison have kept just seven.

Gameweek 34 fixtures: Chelsea v West Ham

There have been 51 previous meetings in the Premier League between Chelsea and West Ham. Chelseas have won 27 of the matches, West Ham 15 and there have been nine draws.

The reverse of this fixture finished 3-2 to West Ham back in December. Of the last five Premier League meetings between the sides Chelsea have won two, and West Ham have taken three points three times.

Across these two teams Mason Mount is the top goal scorer with 10. Jarrod Bowen is second with nine, and Michail Antonio is third with eight. Bowen and Mount have registered the most assists this season with eight each. Antonio is third with seven.

On average this season Chelsea create 2.03 chances per match, compared to 1.5 for West Ham.

Chelsea have kept 14clean sheets so far this season, double that of West Ham who have kept seven.

Gameweek 34 fixture: Liverpool v Everton

There have been 59 previous meetings in the Premier League between Liverpool and Everton. Liverpool have won 25 of the matches, Everton 10 and there have been 24 draws.

Liverpool won the reverse of this fixture 1-4 back in December.

Both sides will be additionally motivated to win the derby with Liverpool needing the points to stay in the title race and Everton hoping to avoid the drop.

Across these two teams Mo Salah is the top goal scorers with 20 goals. Diogo Jota is second with 15 and Sadio Mane third with 13. Trent Alexander-Arnold is top for assists across these two teams with 12. Salah is second with 11 and Andy Robertson is third with 10 assists.

On average this season Liverpool create 2.74 chances per match, in comparison to just 0.77 for Everton.

Liverpool have kept 18 clean sheets, Everton just six.

Liverpool’s Virgil Van Dyjk has never lost at home in the Premier League.

Gameweek 34 fixtures: Crystal Palace v Leeds

There have been 9 previous meetings in the Premier League between Leeds and Crystal Palace. Leeds have won five of the matches, Crystal Palace have won three and there has been one draws.

Leeds have won three of the last four Premier League meetings between the sides.

Crystal Palace were on a good run of form until their Gameweek 32 match against Leicester. Leeds have had a real turn of fortune under their new manager and have now won three of their last four in the Premier League.

Across these two teams Wilf Zaha is top for goals scored with 11. Raphinha is second with 10 and Connor Gallagher is third with eight. Micheal Olise is top for assists with five, followed by Daniel James with 4 and Joachim Anderson and Jordan Ayew who have three each.

On average this season Palace create 1.23 chances per match, just more than the 1.13 that Leeds create on average.

Palace have kept nine clean sheets, in comparison to four for Leeds.
