UCL Fantasy best captain for Matchday 11

Champions League football continues! We pick out the UCL Fantasy best captain for Matchday 11. Using stats, form and fixture we can shortlist some of the best options for UCL Fantasy managers to give the armband ahead of the new round.

Highlighting the best captain for Matchday 11 can be detrimental to both rank and a manager’s total points at the end of the Matchday. Making sure we take in as much information we can adds to the probability of a successful captaincy matchday.

The best captain on Tuesday

Managers have two opportunities at a captaincy return in Matchday 11, one on Tuesday and one on Wednesday. The first day sees Real Madrid host Manchester City. The visitors go into this as favourites, which is an early indicator that backing their assets for captaincy could be wise.

Manchester City have been in imperious form as of late, winning a huge nine of their last 10 matches in all competitions. In the same period, they also managed to rack up a whopping 29 goals, averaging 2.9 goals scored per game.

The biggest contributor to both Manchester City’s results and scoring form is Erling Haaland (€11.2m). The Norwegian has accumulated a monstrous total of 35 goals and seven assists in the league so far. The elite striker and penalty taker has also bagged 12 goals and one assist in his eight Champions League games.

Erling Haaland is the standout captaincy option for Tuesday but for those managers looking to go different, there are some other great options. Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema (€10.9m) could also be considered. The Frenchman reigns as one of the best strikers in the world, notching up 17 goals and three assists in 21 La Liga matches. Another player UCL managers should take into account is Benzema’s teammate Vinicius Junior (€10.3m). The Brazilian midfielder is in a relentless run of form in the Champions League, picking up a return in nine of his 10 matches.

The best captain on Wednesday

If our Tuesday captain fails to hit a significant amount of points then managers have the option to change captaincy on the Wednesday. The second game of Matchday 11 sees Milan take on Inter in a seismic clash between two domestic league rivals.

It could be a tough match to predict but Inter are in much better form than Milan domestically. Inter have banked five wins in five games since their last Champions League match, keeping four clean sheets, collecting 15 goals and averaging three goals scored per game.

Inter’s form makes them favourites to advance so backing their assets for captaincy could be beneficial. The standout option is Lautaro Martinez (€8.5m). The striker has picked up an impressive four goals and two assists in his last three matches, highlighting a strong uptake in form.

Some could even back the Inter’s defenders. Their back-three system allows their wing-backs into some of the most advanced positions on the pitch, increasing the likelihood of attacking returns. Due to this both Federico Dimarco (€4.6m) and Denzel Dumfries (€5.3m) should be considered.
