UCL Fantasy best budget players for Matchday 2

With the new round around the corner we take a look at some of the UCL Fantasy best budget players for Matchday 2. Using fixtures, stats, and team and player from we reveal some of budget picks with the most potential for the round ahead.

It could be extremely difficult to get all of the players you want into your squads at times which is why finding the UCL Fantasy best budget players for Matchday 2 can be absolutely essential. Budget players are great but finding cheap picks with massive potential could be even more beneficial.

Oscar Gloukh – Salzburg

Salzburg tend to be one of the best places to go for budget players lately, last season especially. Although the Austrian side have sold a lot of their young talent over recent years they still have one potential gem we could look to.

In terms of overall form Salzburg are getting results. In the 10 matches they have played in all competitions they have won eight and bagged a huge 29 goals – averaging 2.9 goals per game. They play at home this week against Real Sociedad who although tough have kept just two clean sheets in their first eight matches.

Salzburg looked convincing against Benfica in Matchday 1 and one of their young talents got on the score sheet. That player is midfielder Oscar Gloukh (€5m) who has not only become a major part of the Danes starting 11 but also plays behind the striker. The 19-year-old has also become a mainstay in his national side Israel where he recently scored in a European Qualifier.

Sven Ulreich – Bayern

The way the groups are set up this season could mean a major lack of clean sheets this time around. One of the best defences to invest in this week however could be Bayern. The German side managed to rack up five clean sheets in their six 22/23 campaign Group Stage games and their group was much tougher overall.

Bayern face Copenhagen this week and although dominant in their own league they always seem to struggle in Europe. In fact, the last time they featured in the UCL, last season, they mustered up just one single goal.

The cheapest and most reliable way into the Bayern defence this week is Sven Ulreich. The German goalkeeper comes in at just €4.5m. The clean sheet looks on for Bayern this week and Ulreich could be easy points at a low price.

Takefusa Kubo – Real Sociedad

We have already seen that Real Sociedad come up against Salzburg this week. Although they are yet to convince from a defence point of view this season their front line look like they are firing. To highlight how explosive their attack can be they have already scored four or five goals in two of their matches this season.

One of their standout attackers is Takefusa Kubo. The Real Sociedad striker comes in with a nice price of just €5m in UCL Fantasy. Kubo finished his 22/23 domestic league campaign with three goals and one assist in his last seven matches. This season his form looks to be continuing after securing three goals and one assist in his first four matches.

Luis Alberto – Lazio

Lazio were brilliant last season domestically as they finished second place ahead of the likes of Inter, Milan and Juventus. Although starting the season questionably their form does seem to be picking up again as they remain unbeaten in the last three.

The Italian side have a great fixture this week against Celtic. Although at home in Matchday 2 Celtic have proven incapable in the Champions League in recent years, especially in defence. In fact, the last time they featured in 22/23 they shipped a huge 15 goals in the Group Stage.

One player who looks like he could be great value for money is Luis Alberto (€6m), The Spanish midfielder does predominantly play in central midfield but his heat map shows a lot of positioning just outside the oppositions box. Alberto also takes his sides corners which gives him an additional route to points. In terms of output Alberto has picked up two goals and two assists this season so he clearly has potential. One of his assists also came against Atletico in Matchday 1.
