Top picks for GAFFR Gameweek 9

Last modified date

The new Championship campaign continues which means the fantasy game does too! Because of this we provide the top picks for GAFFR Gameweek 9 with the help of our expert GAFFR manager @TomP_FF.

Looking through the top picks for GAFFR Gameweek 9 can be extremely useful for other managers within the Championship Fantasy community. Knowing who the best players to pick are will also help managers make decisions around transfers, captaincy and even chips.

Leif Davis (£5.1m)

Davis is the king of defenders this year in GAFFR. He averages 3.3 key passes and 0.7 shots a game, and he’s got two assists in seven games so far. Huddersfield away is a nice fixture on paper and I’d back Davis for some bonus and at least a half clean sheet against a Huddersfield side who struggle in front on goal.

Jack Stacey (£5.9m)

Two attacking returns in eight starts so far this year, Stacey looks like a nice pick for this week. Birmingham at home is a solid fixture for clean sheet potential and combining that with Stacey’s attacking output I’m hoping for a good score. He averages 0.6 shots and 0.9 key passes which do not look great for bonus at face value, but I’m hoping he will do well this week given the fixture.

Jack Clarke (£9.2m)

Clarke is simply a great pick playing against a dire Sheffield Wednesday side this week. Five goals in eight starts, he’s nailed and also has posted 2.00xA without actually getting an assist. He’s my captain for this week, with his bonus potential, the fixture and the potential of returns, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he gets a monster haul this week.

Gabriel Sara (£7.8m)

Sara is still averaging four key passes and 2.1 shots a game. With four attacking contributions in eight starts he’s not only great for bonus. Birmingham at home is a nice fixture and I like Sara as a VC option for that floor he’s showed so far this season.

Conor Chaplin (£6.5m)

Five contributions in eight starts, Chaplin is averaging 4.9 shots a game and 1.2 key passes a game which is great for bonus. Ipswich’s run for the next four is great, and a perfect time to bring in an Ipswich striker if you don’t own. I still marginally prefer Chaplin but a double up on Ipswich forwards with Broadhead seems a valid option also. Both are really good picks at their price.

Matt Godden (£7.1m)

Five goals so far in eight games for Godden, who’s averaging 2.8 shots and 0.4 key passes. QPR away is a nice fixture, and Godden has scored three in his last three away games. I like him this week as a pick, there’s a plethora of options at that price and I believe Godden is up there for the forwards.

Differentials – Perry Ng (£5.6m)

Rotherham at home is a great fixture for Cardiff, and I’ve picked Ng out as the best pick for this week. An assist in seven starts and averaging 1.1 key passes for bonus, he is posting solid enough baselines for bonus. He has solid stats for defensive actions and dribbles also. But the main pull for me is Rotherham at home for Cardiff this week, a great fixture and I’m backing Ng for a tidy haul.

Zian Flemming (£9.0m)

Flemming hasn’t been as good as last season, but he’s still averaging 2.2 shots and 1.1 key passes a game. Only one goal so far and a penalty miss last week, but Swansea at home is a nice fixture for Millwall. They have a nice run after this and I think Flemming has the potential to kick on.

Aaron Connolly (£6.1m)

Five goals so far for Connolly, who’s got Plymouth at home this week, who’ve conceded six goals in their last two games. Averaging 2.1 shots a game, and 0.6 key passes. Hull look like a solid side this year and I fancy Connolly to do well this week.
