Top picks for GAFFR Gameweek 19

Last modified date

The Championship campaign continues which means the fantasy game does too! Because of this we provide the top picks in each position for GAFFR Gameweek 19 with the help of our expert GAFFR manager @TomP_FF.

Looking through the top picks for GAFFR Gameweek 19 can be extremely useful for other managers within the Championship Fantasy community. Knowing who the best players to pick are will also help managers make decisions around transfers, captaincy and even chips.

Top Picks – Defenders – Kyle Walker-Peters (£7.1m)

Southampton are in a great form – winning four of their last five matches. They have also managed two clean sheets in their last four matches which shows great defensive potential. Cardiff lay ahead whom have failed to score in two of their last four matches. The clean sheet could be on for Kyle Walker-Peters but he also scored in his last match so has bags of attacking potential too.

Ethan Laird (£5.6m)

Birmingham play at home against Rotherham next. This could be a great opportunity for Laird. Rotherham have been in torrid form recently – failing to win any of their last six matches. Laird has clean sheet and bonus but he also created three key passes in one of his most recent matches which could indicate he has assist potential.

Differential Defender Pick – Brad Potts (£5.6m)

Preston have one of the best fixtures you can have in the Championship. They have a meeting with QPR, a team who have failed to net in five of their last 10 matches. Potts has already secured a goal and an assist from wing-back this season and has good bonus potential.

Midfielder – Crysencio Summerville (£8.7m)

Some could be bored of seeing Summerville in here every week but both him and his side are in very strong form. Summerville has bagged at least one attacking return in seven of his last 10 matches which reflects how consistent he’s been recently.

Sammie Szmodics – (£6.7m)

Blackburn also play one of the easiest fixtures you can play in the Championship. Sheffield Wednesday lay ahead, a team who sit rock bottom and who have lost four of their last six matches. The scoring form of Blackburn also makes their attacking assets appealing this week. The standout is Sammie Szmodics who has racked up a huge six goals in his last four matches.

Differential Midfielder Pick – Jamie Paterson (£6.4m)

Swansea may be inconsistent in terms of results but they have shown they can score goals. They could have big potential this week against a poor Huddersfield who sit 21st in the league. One way into the frontline is Jamie Paterson who has scored in each of his last two matches on the bounce.

Forwards – Georginio Rutter (£9.1m)

Leeds have been scoring plenty of goals recently which makes their attacking assets some of the best in the game. Another one of their great picks is Rutter who has collected three assists and two goals in his last five league matches.

Adam Armstrong (£10.2m)

Southampton have a nice fixture at home against Cardiff next up. The Saints are in very strong form recently but they are also scoring plenty of goals. Leading the attack is Armstrong who has banked three goals and three assists in his last five league matches.

Differential Forward Pick – Jay Stansfield (£5.7m)

Wayne Rooney has a solid opportunity to get a win on the board this week against Rotherham. Rotherham are struggling defensively and have conceded a massive 10 goals in their last three league matches. With that in mind Jay Stansfield could be a nice move. He has netted twice and produced one assist in his last five matches.
