GAMEWEEK 38

As is the norm in Gameweek 38, all 20 teams play in ten simultaneous matches. Almost everything was still to be decided on an exciting final day – the fourth Champions League place, the third relegation spot and the sole champions of England.

So here is a lowdown of the main action, from an FPL perspective.


SUNDAY

Arsenal 5-1 Everton

With the Toffees safe, Richarlison and Jordan Pickford weren’t involved at all but Anthony Gordon appeared briefly. Also, Ben White took a seat on Arsenal’s bench.

Yellow card for Ivan Toney. Whereas a 16-minute Sergi Canos cameo produced both a goal and a red card.

Brighton 3-1 West Ham

As a result, it’s relegation for Burnley after six Premier League seasons. Wout Weghorst began on the bench but appeared after the half-time break.

Chelsea 2-1 Watford

There was a farewell appearance for Antonio Rudiger but no involvement from Marcos Alonso. For Watford, Ben Foster missed out due to injury.

Crystal Palace 1-0 Man United

Leicester 4-1 Southampton

Mo Salah came off the bench, due to Liverpool desperately seeking a winner. On the other hand, Virgil van Dijk remained on it. A Joel Matip yellow but maximum bonus points.

Man City 3-2 Aston Villa

For Man City, Raheem Sterling, Ilkay Gundogan and Oleksandr Zinchenko all brought attacking returns despite starting on the bench. No Emi Martinez, although Danny Ings had a cameo.

Norwich 0-5 Tottenham

Because Son received a yellow card, it robbed him of bonus points.


In conclusion, the ten matches brought 39 goals and two clean sheets to FPL managers.

Meanwhile, the highest-scoring players of the Gameweek are Dejan Kulusevski (16), Ilkay Gundogan (14) and Cedric Soares (14). Four players have brought in 13 points to close the campaign.
