Best picks from Crystal Palace for DGW26
Double Gameweeks can make or break an FPL manager’s season. Get the picks right and a huge green arrow follows, get it wrong and it can really harm your overall rank. So who are the best picks for Double Gameweek 26?
Having won once in their last eight matches, Crystal Palace seem to have lost some steam ahead of Double Gameweek 26. Palace face Chelsea at home before travelling to Watford for their second fixture.
Is it appealing to invest in Eagles assets? Odsonne Edouard was likely to be the must popular Palace pick for FPL managers. However his benching in Gameweek 24 has worried FPL managers in terms of his minutes.
After looking at the prospects of Leeds, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham players with two matches, it’s time to assess Patrick Vieira’s side.
Underlying Stats
Up until Gameweek 18, Palace actually had the league’s second-lowest expected goals conceded (xGC) tally of 17.21. This was better than that of Liverpool and Chelsea. In the seven Gameweeks since, their 11.42 is amongst the worst xGC total.
To make things tougher for FPL managers, Vicente Guaita has started being rotated with Jack Butland in goal. This rules out one of the only appealing cheap stoppers, unless managers invest in both Palace goalkeepers.
Marc Guehi and Tyrick Mitchell are their most nailed-on defenders, whilst striker Edouard responded to starting all seven games between Gameweeks 16 and 23 by delivering three goals and four assists (discovered in the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area). 400,000 new owners later, he was on the bench against Norwich.
Ownership
Conor Gallagher is the seventh top-scoring midfielder but was higher for a while, following 11 goal involvements over his first 15 matches. Things have dried up since and the Chelsea loanee will not have a Double Gameweek, as he’s ineligible to face his parent side on Saturday. Gallagher’s ownership is down to 17.4%.
Using LiveFPL data, we can see that 34.66% of the top 10k have a Palace player. Very few own Wilfried Zaha – usually their star man, having netted at least ten goals in two of the last three seasons. His six so far is slightly below-par but he could be an interesting differential.

FPL Harry also has Zaha on his radar, although the embarrassing penalty miss at Norwich may keep him off their next one.
Meanwhile, not all managers joined the Edouard bandwagon.
