Sky Fantasy Gameweek 22 Expert Team Reveal

With the deadline inching closer we take a look at a Sky Fantasy Gameweek 22 expert team reveal. Fantasy Football Scout contributor @FFScout_Tom comes in to share his team and explain the rationale behind some of his selections and thoughts.

Which defenders should we pick? Which strikers should be making our squads? Our expert could help bring clarity to the decisions you have to make in your own team to give you an edge over your competition with his Sky Fantasy Gameweek 22 expert team reveal.

Introduction

After a busy overhaul, it was nice to calm down and enjoy a slower GW21! In this article, I’ll review the gameweek just gone and look ahead to the upcoming week in Sky FF. Enjoy!

GW21 Review

It was a frustrating first week after overhaul, most of my points came from highly owned players. As a result, my rank hardly moved. Overall, I scored 87 points and moved up about 50 places up from 1.4K.

The main disappointment was James Trafford’s last minute clean sheet wipeout, essentially taking him from 24 points to just six as my captain. Not to be bitter, but it was definitely a foul! Close behind was moving the armband away from Lewis Dunk to Pascal Groß. Elsewhere, Phil Foden and Matheus Cunha seemed to do everything but score despite getting into some great positions.

I made one transfer, as planned, moving Trafford onto Alphonse Areola. Long term, I’m happy with this move.

GW22 Preview

Starting with captaincy, it looks quite tricky this week! On Tuesday, Arsenal assets will no doubt be fairly popular, especially after their 5-0 win last time out. Despite this, my armband is currently on Ollie Watkins. Newcastle are poor away from home and I don’t think it will be long until Watkins finds the net again. Wednesday, it’s hard to make any decision until we see the team (as I will explain later). Haaland, if he starts is obviously the best pick, however, I’m currently on Rodri who is always a goal threat against weaker opposition and a shoo-in for tier points. Finally, it looks like captain what you have on Thursday and don’t worry too much. I’ve got a decision between Areola (BOU) or Cunha (MUN), I’m currently backing the attacker.

My transfer plans this week centre around one man, Erling Haaland. It’s great news for Sky managers that we will see the Man City team sheet, prior to locking in on Wednesday. As it stands, my current plan is to move out Saka for the Norwegian if he starts. There is of course a possibility that Foden doesn’t start but Haaland does, in which case I would still probably move on Saka due Man City’s extra fixture.

If Erling Haaland is not starting then Kevin De Bruyne becomes tempting, especially wirh Salah’s injury. Saka to KDB (captain) would be very, very tempting. All eyes will be on that Man City team sheet for sure! Apart from a potential move on Tuesday, I’ve got no other planned transfers in GW22.

Thanks for reading and good luck for the upcoming Gameweek. Remember to finalise your teams deadline and set your captains before 19.30pm GMT on Tuesday!
