Arsenal and Manchester City Dumped Out of the Champions League!

Should we sell Haaland in FPL?

We answer one of the toughest questions on the minds of managers, should we sell Haaland in FPL? With the help of the Fantasy Football Scout members area, we utilise the fixture ticker and underlying stats to find a conclusion.

Ahead lays one of the most significant parts of the season in fantasy football. With double and blank Gameweek’s over the next phase of the season many will be debating the position key assets have in their teams. So, should we sell Haaland in FPL?

Fixtures

We can see from the fixture ticker below that Manchester City rank second from bottom. This means that they have the second toughest fixtures in the league amongst all teams from now until the end of the season.

Many will be pondering whether they should be selling Haaland because he does not have a fixture in Gameweek 28 and does not have a double Gameweek in Gameweek 29.

The Manchester City attack

This season amongst all teams in the league Manchester City rank first for goals (64), first for goals in the box (39), first for attempts on goal (419), first for shots in the box (284), first for shots on target (144) and first for big chances total (92).

Manchester City’s season stats have been fantastic but have they maintained them recently? In their last six matches amongst all teams they also rank first for goals (14), second for attempts (97), second for shots in the box (65), joint first for big chances total (25) and second for shots on target (35).

The league chasers have sustained some of the best offensive stats in the league this season and more recently, suggesting investment could be absolutely key for fantasy managers.

Haaland

The biggest contributor towards Manchester City’s brilliant offensive capability is Haaland. The Norwegian striker has already notched up a huge 27 goals and four assists in 24 games this season. He currently sits as the highest owned and highest scoring player in the game.

His stats are also amongst the best this season. Haaland ranks first for goals (27), first for goals scored in the box (26), second attempts on goal (83), first for shots in the box (78) and first for big chances total (40).

Haaland’s recent stats are also impressive. In his last six matches amongst all players he ranks joint second for goals scored (five), joint for goals score in the box (five) and first for big chances total (nine).

In terms of explosiveness, Haaland has racked up a huge eight double-digit hauls this season, including 23 points and two 17-point returns.

Sell and buy back?

Some may be looking to sell Haaland for the next several Gameweeks. One factor that should be considered is that managers have built up a lot of value in Haaland and selling him would mean buying him back at full price and so losing money.

Although he blanks in Gameweek 28, he faces Liverpool immediately after. Liverpool have conceded more big chances than most other teams in the league this season.

Should we sell Haaland in FPL?

No. Manchester City and Haaland have maintained some of the best team and player stats in the league this season and more recently. We have also seen massive explosiveness from Haaland which could suggest he has the potential to outscore any other asset in the game. That means he could outscore an asset with two matches in a single game.

When considering the value tied up in Haaland, the opponents he faces, his relentless form and explosiveness, he should be remaining in every single fantasy team. Benching him for his blank Gameweek in Gameweek 28 is advised. Do not sell Haaland.
