Most popular transfers for Gameweek 9

The new round of Fantasy Premier League is just around the corner. Many within the community are already making their moves ahead of the new round so with the help of the Official Premier League website we highlight the most popular transfers for Gameweek 9.

Checking out the most popular transfers for Gameweek 9 can be really helpful to fantasy managers. Whether it be due to injuries, bans, player and team form, the transfers other people are making can help bring clarity to our own decisions.

The most popular transfers in

  • Ollie Watkins (£8.2m) – The highest transferred player in this week is this man (279162). Watkins sits as the highest scoring player in FPL so far this season due to his relentless consistency. He faces West Ham next who are conceding some of the worst shots in the box conceded data in the league.
  • Mohamed Salah (£12.7m) – The Liverpool main man is the second highest transferred in player in this week with 268053. Salah managed a huge 15 points last week due to his two goals and will be hoping to extend his form with a match against Everton ahead.
  • James Maddison (£8.1m) – He sits as the third highest transferred in player ahead of the deadline (214311). Maddison has already managed to return in five of his first eight matches and has a great chance to add to his tally against Fulham in the round ahead.
  • Matty Cash (£5.1m) – The Aston Villa defender still sits as the highest ranked in his position for non-penalty expected goal involvement. That and a fixture against West Ham could be a huge reason he sits fourth with 212737 transfers in.
  • Joachim Anderson (£4.9m) – The Crystal Palace defender completes the list this week with 205451 transfers in. Anderson could find it difficult this week with a tough game against the in-form Newcastle next.

The most popular transfers out

  • Pervis Estupinan (£5.1m) – The Brighton full-back continues to be the most sold player with 783367 transfers out. Not only is Estupinan still injured but his side are still yet to keep a single clean sheet so far this season.
  • Bukayo Saka (£8.5m) – Saka sits as the second most sold player ahead of Gameweek 9 (302747). Saka has some excellent fixtures ahead. However, his next game comes against London club Chelsea who have won both of their last two matches.
  • Kaoru Mitoma (£6.6m) – Brighton have a huge matchup against Manchester City next up. This could explain why Mitoma is the third most sold player ahead of the deadline (302579). Similar to Saka, after this week Mitoma has a great schedule so sellers could regret their decision long-term.
  • Bryan Mbeumo (£6.7m) – Brentford have let their form slip as of late. Because of that the form their standout player Mbeumo has also dropped. With that and tough fixtures ahead he is being sold in droves (177961).
  • Erling Haaland (£14m) – The Norwegian sits fifth on the list this week (170644). Manchester City’ main man has been dropping in terms of output lately which could explain it. That may be the case but he faces a Brighton who are yet to keep a clean sheet next.
