@FPLReaction’ team reveal for Gameweek 2

The new Premier League season continues so we look to the second round. We bring in Fantasy Football Community and Fantasy Football Scout contributor @FPLReaction to give you his team reveal for Gameweek 2.

As we approach any given deadline, managers will be scrambling for clarity on some of the biggest decisions in the game like transfers and captaincy. Taking a look at @FPLReaction’s team reveal for Gameweek 2 could benefit other managers when making those decisions.

Gameweek 1 review

  • It was a good start for the template and as my team comes into that bracket it was a successful Gameweek 1.
  • Overall I hit 80 points in the first round and sit around 700k in terms of rank.
  • The biggest peformances for me came from the likes of Haaland and Saka, similar to everyone else.
  • Other great returns came from Mbeumo who outscored most of the popular £6.5m midfielders, Chilwell and Estupinan.
  • It was a crazy end to the Gameweek 1 deadline when the rumours circulated that Gabriel would not be starting the game. I ended up frantically trying to transfer out Gabriel to fellow centre-back Saliba minutes before the deadline.
  • The biggest disappointments were Jordan Pickford (still not sure why I didn’t stick with my original pick Johnstone of Crystal Palace) and the Manchester United attacking duo. – the Reds were really disappointing against Wolves.
  • Very happy with a good score in the first week.

Team Reveal for Gameweek 2

Goalkeepers

  • Jordan Pickford – Will sit on the bench this week because I just can’t see Everton keeping a clean sheet against Aston Villa.
  • Matt Turner – I think Turner could be one of the best goalkeeper picks in the game this week. Sheffield United are without their highest scoring player of last season as well.

Defenders

  • William Saliba – He was a last minute decision last week so if I knew Gabriel was starting I would prefer him. Saliba still looked dangerous in Gameweek 1 but I was considering an aggressive move to Reece James this week before the news broke he was injured again.
  • Pervis Estupinan – Still has great fixtures coming up and was basically playing as a winger in Gameweek 1. He has massive potential this week against Wolves.
  • Ben Chilwell – Another full-back who may as well have been playing as a winger. Chilwell, like Estupinan, could have come away with a massive haul in Gameweek 1.
  • Destiny Udogie – Faces Manchester United this week so stays firmly on the bench. Overall happy with how attacking he has looked for Spurs so far so his time will come soon.
  • Issa Kabore – Luton blank in Gameweek 1 so Kabore does not have a fixture and I probably would not play him even if he did.

Midfielders

  • Bryan Mbeumo – I am very happy with my decision with picking Mbeumo from the other £6.5m. He returned in his toughest match and has a great fixture this week against Fulham. I have no future plans to sell him just yet.
  • Marcus Rashford – Disappointing in Gameweek 1 but I feel he is the best Manchester United attacking asset and I’m definitely willing to give him more time long term. I think the game against Spurs suits Manchester United so we could have plenty of returns this week.
  • Bruno Fernandes – Will be my first sacrifice if I need funds or find a better option in midfield. I want to see his positioning against Spurs. Fernandes for me is a wait and see but for now I will be giving him more time.
  • Bukayo Saka – Arsenal’s standout option and penalty taker. I don’t see when I would consider selling him and think he has massive potential going into any given week.
  • Gabriel Martinelli – The Brazilian looked very good in Gameweek 1 and currently Arsenal look worthy of the attacking double up.

Forwards

  • Erling Halaand – I am slightly tempted to captain another player this week but no assets stand out in my team to take the risk. When in doubt back Erling Haaland.
  • Ollie Watkins – I will be monitoring Aston Villa moving forward after their Gameweek 1 pasting. I like the look of other strikers so Watkins needs to look convincing every week.
  • Cameron Archer – The burner slot in my team. As I mentioned earlier I do like the look of other strikers moving forward so if I want one without sacrificing Watkins I could upgrade Archer.

Rolling the transfer

I think rolling the transfer is very important this week. I want two free transfers going into Gameweek 3 as both the Chelsea and Spurs schedule looks very good. Waiting an extra week also gives us an extra round of information so could help between deciding which Spurs midfielder to invest in and have a better look at Chelsea in general.
