@FPLReaction’ first draft for Serie A Fantasy

The new season of Italian football isn’t far away now. In fact, the first round starts on the 19th of August. With that in mind we take a look at @FPLReaction‘ first draft for Serie A Fantasy and what the rationale is behind his picks.

Twitter is full of some of the most experienced fantasy managers in the world so catching up with one and checking out his first draft for Serie A Fantasy could be very helpful to other managers. It could bring clarity to some of the decision making in our own teams.

@FPLReaction’ first draft

Goalkeepers

  • Rui Patricio (€5m) – I really like the Roma defence this season and Patricio managed 13 clean sheets last campaign. He also comes in at a great price.
  • Steffano Turati (€4m) – Could be a fantastic back-up goalkeeper. The 21-year-old bagged a huge 20 clean sheets from 37 matches last season.

Defence

  • Danilo (€6.4m) – Was the highest scoring player in the game last season with 300+ points. I think, without European football this season Juventus could have a much better campaign which boosts the appeal of Danilo.
  • Federico Dimarco (€6m) – I think were going to see Inter make a good attempt at the title this season and Dimarco could have another good campaign after seven goal contributions last season.
  • One of the cheapest ways into the strong Lazio defence is Nicolo Casale (€4.6m) who also helps to enable the rest of the team.
  • Torino have maintained a solid defence over the last several years and I like the look of Perr Schuurs (€4.8m). I also like the first three out of four fixture as well so he could have solid potential.
  • Kingsley Ehizibue (€4.4m) – Udinese play with a wing-back system giving their wing-backs the freedom to advance forward. With their recent departures we could see Ehizibue set for reliable gametime.

Midfielders

  • Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (€12m) – Napoli were fantastic last season and the winger was instrumental to them winning the league. He scored 12 goals and registered 10 assists last season and I think he could match or better that in the new campaign.
  • Adrien Rabiot (€6.6m) – Juventus have some great fixtures to start the season. In addition, as I mentioned earlier I expect a much stronger campaign from them this season. Rabiot is a cheap route into the Juventus attack – he collected eight goals and four assists last season.
  • Teun Koopmeiners (€7m) – Atalanta were one of the most exciting teams to watch in the league last season and in stages their offensive line was breath-taking. Because of this and the fact he has multiple routes to points Koopmeiners makes the cut.
  • Gabriel Strefezza (€5.4m) – The Lecce midfielder helps to enable funds elsewhere within the side. After Lazio in Round 1 Lecce have some great fixtures and the Brazilian showed his quality last season scoring eight goals and producing four assists.

Forwards

  • Victor Osimhen (€12m) – The Nigerian was absolutely relentless last season – racking up a fantastic 26 goals and four assists in 32 matches. I think, in what could be his last season, he could match or better that total.
  • Lautaro Martinez (€11m) – Martinez comes under fire quite a lot but his consistency in Serie A should not go unnoticed. He managed 21 goals and six assists last season for Inter, a team I expect to make a major comeback for the title this campaign.
  • Giuseppe Caso (€4.4m) – An important part of the Frosinone attack last season scoring nine goals and creating three assists. He also comes in at one of the cheapest playing prices in the game.
