FPL hot topics in the community

The new season is just under three weeks away so we cover some of the FPL hot topics in the community to see what managers have been discussing. You’ll find discussions around which players to own, which formations to go with and much more.

Keeping up to date with the FPL hot topics in the community can be really useful towards preparing for the new campaign. Knowing which players to bring in, who the experts are selecting and anything else significant can help towards a successful start to the new fantasy season.

@FPLGeneral

Fantasy Football Scout contributor FPL General provided the community with another interesting draft this week. One of the most noticeable notes is his substitute’ bench – selecting two £4m defenders in Amari-Bell (Luton) and Jordan Beyer (Burnley).

General states that his goalkeeper will be a late call. Some, like General are looking at the same back three in defence of Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold (£8m), Arsenal’s Gabriel (£5m) and Pervis Estupinan (£5m).

@FPL_Harry

Another Fantasy Football Scout contributor also highlighted one of the biggest talking points of the week. Harry was one of the many managers to discuss the new Manchester United signing Andre Onana after being revealed by Official Fantasy Football.

Andre Onana was unveiled this week with a £5m price-tag and many found it too hard to resist. The Reds kept 17 clean sheets last season which was more than any other side in the division. Because of this Onana has already racked up just under 10% ownership in the game.

@GianniButtice

Regular Fantasy Football Scout contributor Gianni Buttice also shared a great piece of content this week. Gianni emphasised how much the Manchester City assets are going under the radar as we approach the new season.

Check out the video below and see why managers should be showing more of a focus on their assets. Some of the best fantasy investments could include the likes of midfielder Phil Foden (£7.5m) and centre-back John Stones (£5.5m).

@fplblackbox_az

We saw another great video within the community this week. Video contributor Az held a pre-season Q and A with @FPLFamily’ Sam. They answered some of the most interesting questions provided by the community ahead of the new season.

One of the hottest topics to come up was that of the Chelsea assets. Whilst some have shown interest around the likes of full-backs Reece James (£5.5m) and Ben Chilwell (£5.5m) many could start questioning if Levi Colwill (£4.5m) could be a cheaper and adequate replacement.

@FFScout_Joe

We had some great videos this week highlighting some of the most important discussions in the FPL community and Joe provided one of them. The Brighton attack became one of the most investable in the game last season – the fact that Brighton had more shots on target than any other side in the league reinforces that.

Although attractive, Brighton arguably have too many options which is the cause for the debate. Trying to pick between midfielders Pascal Groß (£6.5m), Solly March (£6.5m), Kaoru Mitoma (£6.5m) and Julio Enciso (£5.5m) could be tough. Joe has given a great verdict below when it comes to deciding between the Brighton midfielders.
