FPL: @dmpwright’ Team Reveal for Gameweek 28

The new round of Fantasy Premier League is edging closer so we bring in four times top 10k manager @dmpwright. He reveals his team, shares his long-term plans, discusses his transfers and highlights captaincy ahead of the new round.

Our experts team reveal for Gameweek 28 could be a huge help for those struggling to make decisions in their own fantasy teams. We are approaching a tough period in FPL with both Blank and Double Gameweeks ahead. So, learning from one of the best could be vital for planning ahead.

Gameweek 28 Team Reveal (Subject to Change)

  • Every one of my players returned in GW27. Because of this I secured my seventh consecutive green arrow up to an OR of ~17k.
  • Looking ahead to DGW28, I will be making at least two transfers to attack Bournemouth and Luton’s double. I’ll also be setting myself up for the blank in GW29, which I’m still looking to navigate using free transfers.
  • Virgil Van Dijk to Alfie Doughty and Erling Haaland to Carlton Morris (!) are almost certain to be my two free transfers this week.
  • I am also considering a four-point hit for Neto (with Martin Dúbravka making way) or a Bournemouth defender given their favourable DGW schedule. However, I may forego this as my existing defensive assets have good fixtures this week. I am also keen to avoid unnecessary hits in the lead up to GW29 (in which Bournemouth blank anyway).
  • As it stands then, Alphonse Areola will be my goalkeeper for DGW28. Alfie Doughty, Gabriel and William Saliba lining up across the back.
  • Pervis Estupiñan is likely to earn a stay of execution until next week given his more favourable fixture compared with Van Dijk.
  • My midfield remains unchanged from last week, with Jarrod Bowen, Cole Palmer, Bukayo Saka and Son-Heung Min in my starting XI, and Phil Foden having to make do with a spot on the bench in light of Manchester City’s tricky away fixture against Liverpool. Even though he faces Liverpool, transferring out a striker as prolific as Haaland is always a concern. However, Morris has three games compared with Haaland’ one between now and GW30, so effectively starts with a net four-point advantage – and has the fixtures to add to that.
  • My other two forwards will be Ollie Watkins and Dominic Solanke, with the latter taking the captain’s armband barring any more last-minute injury scares.
