FPL: Best Midfielders in 23/24

The final balls have been kicked in the Premier League season so we take a look back at the best midfielders in 23/24. Using the Official Fantasy Premier League app we can check out the top 10 highest scoring midfielders

Its been a long season in many aspects and it’s a great time to look back and reflect on some of the highlights. Reminding ourselves of the best midfielders in 23/24 could be super helpful when looking ahead to the new season.

The Top 5

1. Cole Palmer – 244 points

Topping every other midfielder and player in the game for points at the end of the 23/24 campaign was Cole Palmer. The former Manchester City man has been relentless since joining Chelsea and that is reflected in the 244 points he earned.

Most of Palmer’ points were due to a whopping 22 goals, 13 assists, and 32 bonus points. Palmer collected his biggest return in Gameweek 33 against Everton where he netted four goals and picked up three bonus.

2. Phil Foden

Manchester City won their fourth consecutive Premier League title in the 23/24 season. One of their most influential attackers was Phil Foden. Foden sits second amongst midfielders for points with 230. The Englishman managed 19 goals and eight assists to help him reach that tally.

Foden amassed eight double-digit hauls in 23/24 but his biggest occurred in two separate matches. One of his 20-point returns came against Brentford where scored three goals and picked up three bonus. The other occurred in a home victory against Aston Villa, there he also hit three goals and three bonus.

3. Bukayo Saka – 226 Points

Arsenal took Manchester City all of the way to the end but let slip the title towards the latter stages of the campaign. Bukayo Saka was crucial for their frontline and 16 goals and 13 assists was evidence of that. Eight double-digit hauls topped off an impressive 23/24 campaign for Saka.

4. Son Heung-Min

Son Heung-Min sits as the fourth highest scoring midfielder in 23/24. Tottenham failed to clinch Champions League football that season but Son still managed to bag 213 points thanks to 17 goals and 10 assists. Son’ most successful Gameweek was against Burnley in Gameweek 4. There he picked up 20 points after scoring three goals.

5. Mohamed Salah – 211 Points

The season didn’t go exactly to plan for Jurgen Klopp in his final campaign. The same can be said for Mohamed Salah during that season but he still reached well over 200+ points. Salah’ tally came from an impressive 18 goals and 12 assists and his biggest haul came in the form of three 16-point returns against Newcastle, Brentford and Everton.

Positions 6-10

6. Martin Odegaard – 186 points

7. Anthony Gordon – 183 points

8. Jarrod Bowen – 182 points

9. Kai Havertz – 180 points

10. Bruno Fernandes – 166 points
