Forward planning for FPL Gameweek 10 and 11

We take a look at forward planning for FPL Gameweek 10 and 11. With the help of the Fantasy Football Scout members area we can utilise its fixture ticker and underlying stats to pick out the best teams and players to target for the Gameweeks ahead.

Forward planning for FPL Gameweek 10 and 11 can be absolutely vital to the success of any given managers season. The early stage of the campaign is one of the most important periods in FPL so being able to target the right teams and players could be key.

Gameweek 10 & 11 fixtures

Who has the best fixtures?

Liverpool, Aston Villa, Brighton, Burnley and Crystal Palace rank amongst the top five teams with the easiest fixtures?

Who has the worst fixtures?

Manchester United, Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest, Luton and Fulham rank amongst the bottom five teams with the toughest fixtures.

Best players for Gameweek 10 & 11

  • Liverpool – They rank first on the fixture ticker with matches against Nottingham Forest and Luton next up. If looking to go cheap in defence then full-back Konstantinos Tsimikas (£4.4m) could be a good pick with Andy Robertson out with injury. The standout option in attack is Mohamed Salah (£12.7m). The Egyptian takes his sides penalties and has bagged a return in all but one of his matches so far. Striker Darwin Nunez (£7.4m) could also be a great addition. He ranks amongst the best players in the game for big chances total so far this season.
  • Aston Villa – It has been a brilliant start to the season for Aston Villa who have games against Luton and Nottingham Forest ahead. For those looking to invest in defence then Matty Cash (£5.1m) is the best option. Cash has been playing as a winger and dominates goal threat data points amongst all defenders. In attack some could select the nicely priced Moussa Diaby (£6.7m). He has claimed returns in half of his matches played so far. However, the standout offensive option is Ollie Watkins (£8.2m) who sits as the joint highest scoring player in the game so far. He has returned in all but one of his matches played this campaign.
  • Brighton – Brighton come into a very good run of fixtures as they face games against Fulham and Everton. The most attacking defender in the Brighton backline is Pervis Estupinan (£5.1m). He is currently flagged with an injury so that could be worth monitoring. Brighton sit top for goals scored so far so it could be worth investing in their attack. With that midfielder Kaoru Mitoma (£6.5m) could be the best pick who has collected two double-digit hauls already this season.

Who else should we be targeting?

  • Tottenham – They are one of the most in-form teams in the league this season and thats reflective of their league position. They have two great full-back options in Destiny Udogie (£4.9m) and Pedro Porro (£5.2m). The latter ranks in the top three defenders for attempts on goal so far this season. In the frontline the obvious pick is Son Heung-min (£9.5m) who takes his sides penalties and leads the attack. Another great pick is of course James Maddison (£8.1m) who has returned in five of his first eight matches and ranks amongst the top five players for non-penalty expected goal involvement.
  • West Ham – The Hammers have two great fixtures against Everton and Brentford next up. The cheapest way into the defence is goalkeeper Alphonse Areola (£4.2m). Another great defensive pick could be full-back Vladimir Coufal (£4.6m) who has registered four assists. In attack the standout option is Jarrod Bowen (£7.3m). Bowen has banked five returns in his first eight games. Another interesting investment could be fellow James Ward-Prowse (£6.3m) who is a set piece specialist and has managed five returns in his first seven games.
  • Arsenal – Arsenal have also started their season in top form. They are currently sustaining some of the best defensive data in the league so far so it could be wise to opt for the cheap Gabriel (£4.7m). In attack the standout option is of course Bukayo Saka (£8.5m) who takes his sides penalties. Saka also makes it into the top five highest scoring players in the game (53 points). Other great picks who have returned from injury include striker Gabriel Jesus (£7.9m) and midfielder Gabriel Marinelli (£7.7m). The former scored recently against Manchester City.

Other assets with potential

  • Kieran Trippier (£6.9m) – Newcastle play Wolves but then a tough match against Arsenal. However, the Newcastle full-back has managed six assists this season and tops defenders for chances and big chances created so far so has multiple routes to points.
  • Erling Haaland (£14m) and Julian Alvarez (£7.1m) – Manchester City have games against local rivals Manchester United and Bournemouth up next. Both sides have been defensively poor recently so both strikers could have big potential.

Should we use a chip?

The most experienced managers usually use their Bench Boost, Triple Captain and Free Hit chip during medium or large blank and double Gameweeks. It could however be a fantastic time to use the Wildcard due to the major fixture swings ahead and rapidly increasing player price-tags of in-form players with good schedules.
