Fantasy5 Picks GW10: Salah backed to succeed

Pick five Premier League players to beat their Fantasy5 ‘points target’ and you could win a prize of up to £10,000.

We love alternative challenges at Fantasy Football Community, so we really enjoy the Fantasy5 game. It’s a free-to-play challenge, where each week you select a player from five matches who you back to beat their designated ‘points target’. It follows the exact same scoring system as FPL but without bonus points.

Get all five correct and you get a split of the £10,000 jackpot prize. Full terms and conditions are here.

In the meantime, we attempt to suggest five successful picks.

Gameweek 10 Fantasy5 picks

  • Bournemouth v Leicester
  • Brighton v Tottenham
  • West Ham v Fulham
  • Arsenal v Liverpool
  • Everton v Man United

Deadline is 15:00 (GMT) on Saturday 8 October.

12 players successfully defeated their points target in Gameweek 9. From these, four came in the Manchester derby and three helped Newcastle comfortably dispatch Fulham.

Unfortunately, no participant managed to pick five of these, meaning the jackpot goes untouched for another week.

Fresh from scoring on Monday night, Leicester’s Harvey Barnes (6.5) has a lower target than James Maddison (7.5). One goal overcomes it. A trip to Bournemouth won’t faze the midfielder, although it should be noted that the Cherries have kept three clean sheets from their four home matches.

He may be being overshadowed by Erling Haaland but Harry Kane (6.5) is the next highest-scoring FPL player, only blanking once. Opponents Brighton are having a good season but new head coach Roberto De Zerbi seems to have attacking tendencies, giving Kane a chance for multiple goal involvements.

Owners of Nick Pope were frustrated by Bobby De Cordova-Reid‘s (6.5) meaningless consolation goal last week. It’s the second of the campaign for a player who may have to step up should Aleksandar Mitrovic (6.5) miss the West Ham trip.

Meanwhile, the form of Mohamed Salah (8.5) may feel below par, but dismiss him at your peril. A man for the big occasion, he is tipped to haul during Liverpool’s trip to Arsenal. He has eight goals and four assists from his past 11 league meetings with the Gunners.

Finally, the selection of Alex Iwobi (5.5) may raise eyebrows but he has a better chance than Antony, Jadon Sancho and Bruno Fernandes (all 7.5), as they’d all need multiple involvements to beat the target. At least with Iwobi, there’s a midfielder with three assists from his last four outings.
