Fantasy Premier League: Best Differentials for Gameweek 32

The new round of FPL is edging closer so let’s take a look at some of the best differentials for Gameweek 32. We do this with the help of Fantasy Football Scout’s Members Area tools.

In FPL, differentials are players who have less than 10% ownership. Successful picks allow managers to both gain rank and improve their mini-league positions. With that in mind, here are four of the best differentials for Gameweek 32.

Brennan Johnson (£5.8m), owned by 1.0%

Whilst Son Heung-min (£10.1m) had a quiet time playing up front against West Ham, his Spurs team-mate Johnson continued a great run of individual form.

The midfielder has racked up four goals and four assists from nine matches, despite starting in less than half of these. Last weekend, he came on at half-time versus Luton and assisted twice to overturn a 1-0 deficit. Then, on Tuesday, he tapped in a driven Timo Werner (£6.3m) cross to give them the lead.

It should ensure the 22-year-old starts against former club Nottingham Forest on Sunday. Not that this opponent should be taken lightly as, since Gameweek 23, Forest have conceded the second-fewest big chances (nine) and third-fewest shots on target (29).

Johnson’s December return to the City Ground ended early with a head injury. He’ll be determined to see things go better this time.

Antoine Semenyo (£4.5m), owned by 3.3%

He may have been overtaken by Rodrigo Muniz (£4.7m) as FPL’s best cheap frontman in recent weeks but Semenyo is still bringing in returns. With Double Gameweek 34 on the horizon, managers could do a lot worse than select him as third forward and use the money elsewhere.

Four goals arrived in five matches between Gameweeks 25 and 28, outscoring popular colleague Dominic Solanke (£7.2m) by 32 points to 24. It ensured Semenyo started six successive matches before the Tuesday win over Crystal Palace, where illness demoted him to the bench.

“He had kind of a cold, not something big, but he was not feeling perfectly. We decided to put him on the bench. That was the situation, nothing else.” – Andoni Iraola

Still, he was able to come on and assist the only goal. Semenyo is in form, received his midweek rest and is ready to visit leaky Luton.

Rayan Ait-Nouri (£4.7m), owned by 4.4%

Elsewhere, managers are starting to notice the attacking form of defender Ait-Nouri but his ownership currently remains in differential status.

Recently deployed as a winger, the Wolves asset has delivered two goals and five shots on target throughout the last three matches. There have been four big chances too, where no other defender has exceeded six all season.

Ait-Nouri’s shots map from the last three matches (green ones are on target)

After heading home an equaliser in midweek, Ait-Nouri could’ve scored another later, barging his way up to the six-yard box but seeing his shot saved. The previous match at Aston Villa also saw a huge close-range miss. And this is all from an FPL defender.

Such form is becoming hard to resist and he’s about to host West Ham at Molineux. It’s just a shame that Wolves rarely keep clean sheets, bagging one from nine outings.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£5.8m), owned by 0.8%

Finally, let’s end with a silly suggestion. By far the biggest expected goals (xG) underachiever of the season with a 10.31 tally far exceeding the reality of four, striker Calvert-Lewin ended his 18-game goalless streak at Newcastle. A true case of some easily stoppable force meeting a very moveable object.

Having said that, it was only a penalty. One that the goalkeeper should’ve saved. But they all count and it’s Burnley up next for Everton. Now that his long dark spell is over, expect Calvert-Lewin’s goals to pile up during an incredible purple patch – because that’s how football usually works!
