Best projected points for Gameweek 2

The new round of fantasy football is approaching so we take a look at the FPL players with the best projected points for Gameweek 2. With the help of the Fantasy Football Scout members area we can pick out assets with the most potential for the fixtures ahead.

As we approach the new round fantasy managers are looking for the best players to include in their squads. Because of this looking at the projected points for Gameweek 2 can help bring clarity to some of your decisions.

Projected points for Gameweek 2

  • Mohamed Salah (£12.5m) – The Liverpool midfielder sits top of the list with a projected points of seven for Gameweek 2. Salah faces one of last seasons worst defences. He also picked up and assist to kickstart his fantasy season against Chelsea in Gameweek 1.
  • Erling Haaland (£14m) – Manchester City face a tough game against Newcastle in Gameweek 2 but Haaland still sits second for projected points with six. He managed fewer touched than most players on the pitch in Gameweek 1 but a still managed to find the net twice.
  • Trent Alexander-Arnold (£8m) – Trent was one of the most creative players last season amongst defenders but that didn’t show against Chelsea in the first round. The Liverpool full-back ranks third for expected points in Gameweek 2 with 5.5.
  • Ollie Watkins (£8m) – Aston Villa were dismantled 5-1 by Newcastle in Gameweek 1. However that didn’t stop striker and penalty taker Watkins from picking up a return with his assist. He faces Everton in the next round and ranks fourth for projected points with 5.3.
  • Diogo Jota (£8m) – The Portuguese midfielder failed to return in Gameweek 1 but sits fifth for projected points with 5.2. If he can get over the knock he suffered and start his game against Bournmouth in Gameweek 2 he could have huge potential.
  • Kevin De Bruyne (£10.4m) – Manchester City may have won in Gameweek 1 but they suffered a huge loss via Kevin De Bruyne’ injury. FPL managers would be wise to sell KDB prior to the new round.

Who else has the highest projected points?

  • Morgan Gibbs-White (£6m) – Nottingham Forest face newly promoted side Sheffield United in Gameweek 2. They will be hoping to bounce back after their Gameweek 1 loss against Arsenal. Midfielder Gibbs-White could be the one to drive that turn-around as he sits sixth on the list with 4.7 points.
  • Son Heung-min (£9m) – It was a quiet opening day to the campaign for Son but his team impressed offensively after a tough game against Brentford. Son faces Manchester United next up but still sits amongst the list with 4.6 points.
  • Andrew Robertson (£6.5m) – Liverpool assets look set for a very successful week as they come head-to-head with Bournemouth this week. Robertson looked unconvincing offensively against Chelsea but still ranks with a projected points of 4.6.
  • Martin Ødegaard (£8.5m) – He is the only Arsenal player to make the top 10 highest projected points for Gameweek 2. The Norwegian flopped to a two-point return in the first round but still ranks with 4.5 points as he faces a clash against Crystal Palace this week.
  • Dominik Szoboszlai (£7m) – Liverpool’ new midfielder signing looked promising in the first round. The former Leipzig man was also taking corners and free-kicks against Chelsea. He comes in with a projected points of 4.5.
