FPL: @Dmpwright’ Team Reveal for Gameweek 29

The new round of Fantasy Premier League is edging closer so we bring in four times top 10k manager @dmpwright. He reveals his team, shares his long-term plans, discusses his transfers and highlights captaincy ahead of the new round.

Our experts team reveal for Gameweek 29 could be a huge help for those struggling to make decisions in their own fantasy teams. We are approaching a tough period in FPL with both Blank and Double Gameweeks ahead. So, learning from one of the best could be vital for planning ahead.

Gameweek 29 Team Reveal (Subject to Change)

Notes

  • No clean sheets for Bournemouth defensive assets in either of their DGW fixtures meant I secured another green arrow in GW28, up to an OR of ~13K.
  • With my Free Hit not in play for blank GW29, my transfers this week are fairly straightforward as I take my first hits since GW21.
  • I will be taking a -8 to transfer out the rotation-prone Pervis Estupiñan, Bukayo Saka and Dominic Solanke for Pedro Porro, James Maddison and Ivan Toney, giving me a total of ten players with a game in GW29.
  • I prefer removing Saka over Phil Foden as I have slightly more value tied up in the latter; I’m also expecting Saka’s price to drop further as FPL managers sell him ahead of Arsenal’s away fixture against Manchester City in GW30.
  • I’m planning to wildcard in GW31, so can always bring Saka back then if needed (and hopefully for a lower price).
  • I will therefore be lining up in a 3-3-3 formation for GW29 with Alphonse Areola in goal and Alfie Doughty, Porro and Charlie Taylor across the back.
  • My midfielders will be Jarrod Bowen, Maddison and Son-Heung Min, with the latter the stand-out captaincy option this week.
  • I could remove Foden for an additional -4 but don’t feel it’s worth it given the available replacements.
  • Upfront, Carlton Morris, Toney and Ollie Watkins will lead the line. Morris was one of the biggest xG underperformers in GW28, so I wouldn’t worry about bringing him in on Free Hit or holding if you transferred him in last week.

We built a Free Hit using underlying data and a fixture difficulty right here.
