Expected price jumps
At the end of every season there are a number of players who have exceeded expectations in FPL. Therefore these are the players that FPL managers are anticipating expected price jumps for.
Every summer Official FPL revisit the prices of FPL assets before the launch of the new game. As a result of their performance there are a number of players that FPL managers are expecting to cost more for the start of the new season. We list some of those assets and why the FPL community are expecting them to rise in price.
Dejan Kulusevski
Kulusevski played 18 games for Spurs after he signed in January. In those games he scored five goals and registered eight assists. Kulusevski was added to the game at just £6m, he ended the season at £6.3m. His 99 points in FPL alongside his performances and regular starts will likely see a hefty price jump.
Son Heung-Min
Golden boot winner was priced at £10m in FPL at the start of the 2021/22 season. This saw him rise from a starting price of £9m for the 2020/21 season. Son was the player who, alongside Joao Cancelo, rose the most in price during the 2021/22 season. He finished the season priced at £11.2m. As a result FPL managers are expecting another price rise for the midfielder in 2022/23.
Joao Cancelo
In previous seasons Cancelo has been a risky pick as a result of the Pep roulette. However, he was almost an ever present in the Man City team this season. The defender started 36 times in the Premier League this season, only three defenders across the league started more. Like Son Cancelo’s price rose the most this season from £6m at the games launch to £7.2m by the end of the season. Subsequently FPL managers are expecting the defender to cost more next season.
Trent Alexander-Arnold
By Gameweek 38 Alexander-Arnold cost FPL managers £8.4m this was a rise of £0.9m on his £7.5m starting price for 21/22. The Liverpool defender was once again the highest FPL points scoring defender in the game registering 208 points for his owners. Alexander-Arnold’s continuation as one of the most reliable defenders in the game means managers believe he will start the game at at least £8m next season.
Jarrod Bowen
Jarrod Bowen was the star pick from West Ham last season. He started priced at £6.5m and rose to £6.9m by Gameweek 38. Only Mo Salah, Son and Alexander-Arnold scored more FPL points than Bowen last season. As a result of his exceptional season Bowen also received his first England call up. Managers will anticipate paying substantially more for Bowen in the 2022/23 season.
