Who enjoys facing their GW35 FPL opponent?
Looking at the next FPL opponent of various players to assess whether their record is good or bad against them.
Player vs FPL opponent
Here is the data on how attacking FPL assets usually fare against their next opponents. Clearly a lot can change in the years since Striker A scored a hat-trick against Team B. However, if a player enjoys playing at a certain ground against a particular centre back, that is useful information.
Despite this, Cristiano Ronaldo isn’t included because his 2003-09 appearances were too long ago to be relevant.
Points of interest
Harry Kane absolutely loves facing Leicester. He spent time there on loan in 2013 and has subsequently shown his love for them by bagging two hat-tricks, two braces and seven double-digit hauls against the Foxes. Whereas Son Heung-min has only one home goal against them.
If given playing time following his recent injury, Jamie Vardy also enjoys these meetings. His last pair versus Tottenham brought in 13 and 12 points. In fact, three double-digit hauls have arrived when playing on a Spurs pitch.
Elsewhere, none of the main four Liverpool attackers have an outstanding record against Newcastle, although Mohamed Salah‘s six goals from ten is best.
Wilfried Zaha has a poor record against Southampton but, in fairness, has scored in two of the last three occasions.
Finally, the masses who bought Chris Wood for Double Gameweek 33 followed by Norwich (a) need to be careful. He has never scored against Liverpool, from eight attempts.
