Top three picks from Bournemouth 2021/22
Bournemouth came second in the Championship and as such have been promoted back to the Premier League. We take a look at the top three picks from Bournemouth in the Championship ahead of the 2022/23 season.
Over the course of the 2021/22 season Bournemouth won 25 games, drew 13 and lost just nine times. They registered 88 points, just two less than Fulham who won the league. We assess the top three players from the Bournemouth team for FPL managers to add to their watchlist.
Dominic Solanke
Forward Solanke scored 30 goals in the Championship last season, making him Bournemouth’s top goal scorer. He also registered seven assists for the Cherries, making him their fourth highest performing playmaker.
Solanke has played in the Premier League in three previous seasons. He made 63 appearance in the division in two seasons with Bournemouth and one with Liverpool. Over the three campaigns he has returned 122 points for his FPL owners. If he can bring his Championship form into the Premier League he could be a great asset for FPL managers. Especially as the likes of Ivan Toney and Teemu Pukki entered the game at just £6.5m last season. If this happens with Solanke he could be a great enabler for FPL managers.
Jaidon Anthony
Anthony was promoted from the Bournemouth under 21s to the first team in August 2020. In his first season with the first team he made five appearances in the Championship and registered an assist. This season he made 48 appearances for the Cherries and eight goals and registered eight assists. Anthony was second for assists at Bournemouth last season, only Philip Billing returned more with 10.
Anthony had a shot accuracy total of 53% during the 2021/22 season. He also had 47 shots and was Bournemouth’s third highest goal scorer. The left-winger could be a good option in midfielder for FPL managers with his underlying stats.
Philip Billing
Midfielder Billing has played for Bournemouth since his 2019 move from Huddersfield.
He played 42 matches for Bournemouth this season, creating 39 chances for his teammates in those matches. In that time he scored 11 goals and registered 10 assists.
Billing was Bournemouth’s best playmaker last season. His 10 assists was a team leading total. He had a shot accuracy rate of 40% during the 2021/22 Championship season.
