Top picks for GAFFR Gameweek 3

The new Championship campaign continues which means the fantasy game does too! Because of this we provide the top picks for GAFFR Gameweek 3 with the help of our expert GAFFR manager @TomP_FF.

Looking through the top picks for GAFFR Gameweek 3 can be extremely useful for other managers within the Championship Fantasy community. Knowing who the best players to pick are will also help managers make decisions around transfers, captaincy and even chips.

Gabriel Sara (£7.7m)

Two games, one goal and one assist, Sara is putting up brilliant numbers alongside attacking returns. 13 key passes in two games, with three shots in each, the numbers are quite frankly impossible to keep up. Norwich now go on a favourable run, with arguably only one difficult fixture between now and GW10. This makes Sara a great transfer in and a top pick this week.

Kiernan Dewsbury Hall and Stephy Mavididi (£7.6m and £9.1m)

The two top scoring midfielders in the game face Cardiff at the King Power, and look like captain favourites this week. Both have got attacking returns in both games, whilst posting good bonus stats in the process. Cardiff have conceded two in both their first two games, and I’d back a convincing Leicester win in this one, with these two amongst the points again.

Adam Armstrong (£10m)

Three goals in two games (albeit two penalties), Armstrong looks like he’s got the starting spot. Averaging four shots and 2.5 shots on target a game is reminiscent of his shot volume when he previously played in the Championship for Blackburn. Southampton face a fast starting Plymouth, but I’d back the Saints to come away with a win and Armstrong to be involved in their attacking play like in the first two games.

Patrick Roberts and Jack Clarke (£8.0m and £9.0m)

At home to Rotherham is a great fixture for the Sunderland midfielders. Clarke scored a penalty last weekend, whilst Roberts is yet to register an attacking return, he’s got eight points from two games, showing his bonus capabilities. I think they’re both great picks this week, against a Rotherham side who’ve already conceded six in their two games. Both players could also make great captain picks this week for me personally as well.

Defenders I think could do well

  • Rankin Costello (£5.5m)
  • Pereira (£6.5m) Doyle (£6m)
  • Manning (£7m)
  • Stacey (£6m)
  • Davis (£5.1m)
