Top picks for GAFFR Gameweek 20

Last modified date

The Championship campaign continues which means the fantasy game does too! Because of this we provide the top picks in each position for GAFFR Gameweek 20 with the help of our expert GAFFR manager @TomP_FF.

Looking through the top picks for GAFFR Gameweek 20 can be extremely useful for other managers within the Championship Fantasy community. Knowing who the best players to pick are will also help managers make decisions around transfers, captaincy and even chips.

Top Picks – Defenders – Kyle Walker-Peters (£7.1m)

Southampton are in great defensive form recently – keeping two full clean sheets in their last two matches. Their standout midfielder is Kyle Walker-Peters who scored in one of his most recent matches against Bristol City showing he has goal threat.

Leif Davis (£5.4m)

Leading all other defenders on points is this man. The Ipswich full-back has been exceptional this season and at such a great price. Regardless of opponent Davis has proved time and time again he can pick up points. In fact, he’s managed a huge seven assists in his last 10 league games.

Differential Defender Pick – James Justin (£6.4m)

Leicester are back to winning ways after a small blip. The Foxes have managed a solid seven clean sheets this season so far and face an out of sorts Plymouth side next. With the suspension of Ricardo Pereira it could be wise to shift to James Justin who has already netted this campaign so also has goal threat.

Midfielders – Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

It could be a great week to captain a Leicester player. The Foxes have a meeting with one of the worst defences in the league this week. Plymouth have conceded a whopping 31 goals already this season and the second highest scoring midfielder in the game looks set to take advantage.

Gabriel Sara (£7.8m)

Norwich are in great scoring form recently – netting at least two in three of their last four matches. They also face a Preston side who have lost all three of their last three whilst also shipping a huge eight goals. Gabriel Sara could also be a great captaincy pick this week. The Brazilian has been fantastic this campaign and managed three assists and one goal in his last five league games.

Differential Midfielder Pick – Mark Sykes

Bristol City will be hoping to get three points on the board this week. They come up against a poor Huddersfield defence next up who have conceded a massive 31 goals. Huddersfield are a team to target and Sykes who managed a goal in one of his most recent matches could be a great pick.

Forward – Georginio Rutter

Leeds continue their fight to try and secure automatic promotion and are in top scoring form – scoring three in both of their last two matches. Leading the attack is Georginio Rutter who has racked up two assists and one goal in his last three matches.

Adam Armstrong

Another side chasing down the top three is the Saints. Not many players in the Championship are maintaining the form that Armstrong is at the moment. Armstrong is becoming a popular captaincy pick regardless of fixture and that’s no surprise after bagging five goals and three assists in his last six matches.

Differential Forward Pick – Ryan Mmaee

Stoke are struggling for form but they face a matchup with the worst team in the league up next, Sheffield Wednesday. Sheffield Wednesday look destined for relegation so targeting them every week could be a nice tactic. With that in mind Ryan Mmaee could be an interesting pick. He leads the frontline and managed a goal and an assist in his last two games.
