Sky Fantasy Gameweek 21 Expert Team Reveal

With the deadline inching closer we take a look at a Sky Fantasy Gameweek 21 expert team reveal. Fantasy Football Scout contributor @FFScout_Tom comes in to share his team and explain the rationale behind some of his selections and thoughts.

Which defenders should we pick? Which strikers should be making our squads? Our expert could help bring clarity to the decisions you have to make in your own team to give you an edge over your competition with his Sky Fantasy Gameweek 21 expert team reveal.

Introduction

Forget Christmas and New Year (although I hope you had a good one!), it’s the most wonderful time of the year for Sky FF managers! Overhaul is open and it’s time to reset your squad for the second half of the season.

Gameweek 20 Review

I went into the Overhaul period on a red arrow as the injuries and suspensions caught up with me in the end (Haaland, Tsimikas and Bissouma). Despite Salah, Son and Watkins all delivering as captains – not owning Palmer for his 20 pointer killed my rank, Alvarez scoring against Sheffield United didn’t help either.

Overall, I finished the first half of the season ranked at 1.1K with 29 transfers left. This was just short of my top 1K with 30 left target. It’s still all to play for!

GW21 Transfers and Captains

Setting up your Overhaul team can be daunting, especially in such a spread out gameweek as we need to cover lots of captaincy days. Furthermore, leaving money in the bank for Salah, Son and potentially Haaland is another spanner in the works.

Working out what you NEED makes the process a lot easier. Looking at GW21, assuming Haaland isn’t an option (we won’t see the team) – your captains are probably Chelsea, Villa, Arsenal, Liverpool, Brighton and a Burnley/Luton player (if you want the latter). Straight away that puts Trafford, Palmer, Saliba, Watkins, Van Dijk and Groß in my team. Suddenly, there’s only five spots left! Rodri almost picks himself, especially with a potential extra fixture to be added in. I like Saka as a cash-cow and he’s quite highly owned, with no Son and Salah it seems silly to avoid.

Foden, Porro and Cunha are the three players I’m less certain on. Dunk or Van Hecke would arguably be a safer bet than the Spurs right-back. Foden is a punt but he’s in such good form the upside is massive! Cunha is someone who has been ticking over all season and I will probably captain him on Sunday 1st Feb versus Man United. He also has a single gameday at the end of February.

Looking ahead, I’ve booked in Trafford to Areola next Sunday. I’ve decided that Luton (H) is worth a one game captaincy punt, especially as it’s ‘free’ to get him in. I probably wouldn’t do it if it needed a transfer to buy him. He should get a save tier at least, then he’s on 10 points with the potential for more. Later on, Haaland will come in when fit, currently the plan is to buy for Saka on Wednesday 31st. Foden to Salah is on the table as and when the Egyptian returns from AFCON.

I should add, my team is of course subject to change!

Thanks for reading and good luck for the upcoming gameweek. Remember to finalise your Overhaul teams ahead of the Friday night deadline and set your captains!
