Introduction

After GW11’s low-scoring affair, GW12 was just what Sky managers needed! In the following article, I will review the weekend just gone and look ahead to GW13 in Sky Fantasy Football.

GW12 Review

There were heroes a plenty in my GW12 team. Captaining Saliba for his passing tier and goal was amazing, especially as Saka only returned an assist. Salah did the business on Sunday with a brace and shot tier. Elsewhere, Tsimikas delivered big time after his benching versus Luton. He continues to prove really good value at just £7.2m. Haaland and Bowen also contributed to the green arrow.

With James Maddison injury diagnosed as a long-term issue, I was forced into a move. I went for Pascal Groß who has ticked over so far and with Dunk’s injury status getting a second Brighton asset seemed sensible. Hopefully he can repay the faith in the upcoming weeks after a disappointing first match.

Overall, 113 points meant I nearly halved my rank from 7K to 3.9K, a position I’m really happy having been 15K a few weeks ago. Hopefully the momentum can be maintained with those at the top end of the rankings running out of transfers quickly!

GW13 Transfers and Captains

Looking ahead to this weekend, GW13 looks a tricky one on paper for multiple reasons. First of all, I’ve four flags – Bissouma, Dunk, Bowen and Haaland. The former is suspended after picking up his 5th yellow card at Wolves while the other three are all managing knocks. I’m hopeful on Haaland and Dunk. However, the prognosis on Bowen is less certain, with some reports suggesting he will be out of GW13 and potentially beyond. If Bowen looks set to miss out for 2-3 weeks, he looks like a sell, especially with the midweek GW coming up. Top of my replacement list are Mbeumo and Palmer. The latter looks more sensible with the Christmas Eve captaincy coming up for Chelsea. Ideally though, Bowen won’t be sold and I won’t be making any moves this week.

Moving onto captaincy, all being well with Haaland’s knock I’ll be backing the Norwegian with the armband on Saturday. Of course, we will see the team and Salah is ready to step in if needed. Sunday looks straightforward, I’ll be going Son. Having said that, Watkins should return against Spur’s injury hit defence. I’m 99% sure I’ll be skipping the captaincy on Monday Night Football. Picking the ‘best’ asset looks very tricky and I don’t think it’s worth a transfer. Luckily I didn’t move for Joao Palhinha last week as he picked up his 5th yellow card at Villa. No doubt that will have disappointed many who planned well in advance for the single gameday.
