Serie A Fantasy Round 36 top picks
There are some great Round 36 fixtures for managers to attack this week. So our regular contributor @FPL_Crisk is here to reveal his top Serie A Fantasy picks.
One of the most respected and seasoned managers in the game, checking out the top picks of @FPL_Crisk could prove extremely beneficial for both the round ahead and over the longer term.
GOALKEEPERS
Vanja Milinkovic-Savic (€5.6m – 18.7%)
The Serbian stopper, alongside another member of this list, has now surpassed Yann Sommer for points and is now the best-performing goalkeeper in the game. After beating Fiorentina and increasing the gap against other teams in the relegation fight, Verona will probably be happy with just a draw against Torino, increasing the chances of a full clean sheet for Milinkovic-Savic.
Wladimiro Falcone (€4.6m – 9.6%)
A very reliable pick over the last few weeks, averaging 7.85 points per game since Lecce changed manager and switched to a more defensive 4-4-2. Falcone ranks second in the Serie A for saves and, next Monday, Lecce host the non-clinical Udinese, who’ve underperformed their expected goals (xG) by over eight goals. There are plenty of opportunities for Falcone to haul.
DEFENDERS
Gleison Bremer (€6.2m – 47.6%)
The other player to overtake Sommer is Bremer, now on 261 points and the game’s top-scoring player. Furthermore, opponents Salernitana are also the best fixture to target and I can’t see Max Allegri rotating the squad too much despite the Italian Cup final taking place on the following Wednesday.
Adam Marusic (€4.6m – 11.7%)
In the last three outings, Marusic played the full 90 minutes. This makes him very tempting as he surely outclasses Alessio Romagnoli from an offensive point of view due to Lazio’s recent switch to a back-three allowing Marusic to play at wing-back. Hosting Empoli should also be fruitful, as these opponents rank joint-last for Serie A goals (only 26 from 35 matches).
MIDFIELDERS
Mattia Zaccagni (€8.4m – 15.4%)
Sticking with Lazio assets, Zaccagni is now fully fit and started against Monza. Despite being listed as a left wing-back on the team sheet, his heatmap showed more advanced positioning than notorious troll Felipe Anderson, who is a central attacking midfielder. To me, this makes Zaccagni more appealing than the former West Ham man.
Samuel Chukwueze (€7.0m – 6.3%)
Underlying numbers aren’t the best but the eye test suggests that Chukwueze has improved a lot in the last month. Three very close VAR offside decisions have overruled what would have been three goals against Sassuolo and Genoa. As long as Ruben Loftus-Cheek remains injured, the Nigerian should be nailed on to play.
If not – we should know by Friday – Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leao remain great options at home to Cagliari.
FORWARDS
Lautaro Martinez (€11.8m – 74.0%)
He hasn’t scored since February but, in all honesty, I have no reason not to suggest Martinez anyway. No other forward has yet reached the 200-point mark. Only the offside flag kept him quiet against Sassuolo, so let’s hope that he’s back on the scoresheet against Frosinone, another relegation candidate.
Dusan Vlahovic (10.0m – 45.0%)
Finally, Vlahovic probably has a higher chance of being rotated than Bremer but – should he start – there could easily be a haul versus Salernitana’s disastrous defence whose season is averaging two goals conceded per game.
