Chelsea 5-0 Wrexham

Goals: Ian Maatsen (x2), Connor Gallagher (£5.5m), Ben Chilwell (£5.5m), Christopher Nkunku (£7.5m).

Assists: Nicolas Jackson (£7m), Carney Chukwuemeka (£4.5m), Raheem Sterling (£7m), Casadei and Angelo Gabriel (£5m).

Summary:

  • It was Mauricio Pochettino’s first match in charge and it ended with a victory.
  • Chelsea set up in a 4-2-3-1 for the first half and 3-4-3 in the second half.
  • Christopher Nkunku was quiet for most of the game but it was a cool finish from the striker towards the end of the match.
  • Ben Chilwell played very well defensively and offensively and scored a greal goal.
  • Sterling was lively but failed to convert a big chance.

Tottenham 2 v 3 West Ham

Goals: Giovano Lo Celso (£5m – TOT), Destiny Udogie (£4.5m – TOT), Danny Ings (£6m – WHU), Divin Mubama (£4.5m) – WHU) and Gianluca Scamacca (£6m – WHU).

Assists: Davinson Sanchez (£4.5m – TOT), Ivan Perisic (£5m – TOT), Jarrod Bowen (£7m – WHU), Emerson Palmieri (£4.5mWHU) and Pablo Fornals (£5m – WHU).

Summary:

  • It was new manager Ange Postecoglou’ first game in charge of Tottenham.
  • Although they lost the game, there was plenty of positives to take away.
  • Tottenham had 31 shots and 71% possession.
  • New left-back Udogie scored and costs £4.5m in FPL.
  • Harry Kane (£12.5m) was very quiet throughout the game.
  • Ivan Perisic was used in a front three rather than his usual wing-back position.

Rangers 1 v 2 Newcastle

Goals: Miguel Almiron (£6.5m) and Harrison Ashby (£4m).

Assists: Elliot Anderson (£4.5m) and Alexander Isak (£7.5m).

Summary:

  • Allan Saint-Maximin (£6m) did not feature in the game as his move to the Saudi League was processing.
  • Sandro Tonali (£5.5m) made his first appearance for the club and he played a nice one-two to contribute towards the first goal.
  • Kieran Trippier (£6.5m), Fabian Schar (£5m), Sven Botman (£4.5m) and Callum Wilson (£8m) all started the game.
  • Nick Pope (£5.5m), Joelinton (£6m) and Joe Willock (£5.5m) did not feature.

Karlsruher SC 2 – 4 Liverpool

Goals: Darwin Nunez (£7.5m), Cody Gakpo (£7.5m) and Diogo Jota (£8m – x2).

Assists: Mohamed Salah (£12.5m), Diogo Jota, Cody Gakpo and Alexis Mac Allister (£6m).

Summary:

  • Liverpool played their usual 4-3-3 formation.
  • Trent Alexander-Arnold (£8m) started the match in central midfield.
  • Cody Gakpo had the highest player rating (9.1) – he scored, registered an assist, produced five key passes and two big chances.
  • Diogo Jota picked up three goal contributions in 45 minutes of play.
  • New signings Dominik Szoboszlai (£7m) and Alexis Mac Allister both featured during the game.

MLS All stars 0 v 5 Arsenal
