Gameweek 4 top wildcard targets

We take a look through some of the top targets for the wildcard. Using the Fantasy Football Scout season ticker we can see which teams have the best run of fixtures. This can then aid FPL managers in picking out some of the best assets for the run ahead.

The wildcard gives managers the opportunity to change their entire team for any reason. FPL have given the community two wildcards to use in each half of the season. In addition unlike any other season FPL have also provided managers with unlimited transfers during the World Cup.

Fixture ticker

Using the season ticker we can change the range of gameweeks up until the point managers are given free transfers during the World Cup. Below we can see the teams that have the best fixtures at the top all the way down to the teams that have the worst fixtures at the bottom.

The obvious options

Some players don’t need the help of the fixture to identify as great options long term. Some of those key players consist of Liverpool assets Salah and Trent. Along with those Man City options like Cancelo and Haaland and Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus could also be considered as an easy to include option.

Top targets-Ivan Toney

Brentford come out on top in terms of fixtures until the World Cup so selecting the best assets from their pool of players could be hugely beneficial. One of those players is £7.2m forward Ivan Toney. After a fantastic start to the season Toney has already returned two goals and two assists in his first three matches so far.

Not only do his FPL points make him the joint highest amongst FPL forwards with Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus but his underlying stats continue to shine. So far amongst all strikers in the game Toney is both joint first for both chances created with seven and big chances created with two.

With great fixtures ahead and in a great period of form Toney becomes very targetable for FPL managers on a wildcard this week.

David Raya

Joining his team-mate Ivan Toney is £4.5m goalkeeper David Raya. Raya was the go to keeper for many FPL managers at the start of the season so for those without it could be a great idea to bring him in on the wildcard.

We can already see that Brentford top the season ticker which will only add to the appeal of Raya. Short -term Brentford play Everton, Crystal Palace, Leeds and Southampton so the opportunity for both clean sheets and save points is there.

Rodrigo

Leeds come in ranked fourth overall amongst all teams for the best fixtures up until gameweek 15. They also only play one tough fixture in their next seven matches which makes their attacking assets even more appealing.

£6.3m midfielder Rodrigo could be the man FPL managers look to. His storming start to the season includes four goals and one assist. Hitting five goal contributions in three games is no easy feat especially in the Premier League. His tally has seen him hit 35 points so far which makes him the highest scoring player in FPL so far.

Team-mates and fellow midfielders £6m Jack Harrison and £5.5m Aaronson could also be great options if FPL managers have financial restrictions.

Kyle Walker

Man City are around mid-table for fixture difficulty however over recent years have been the best team in the league defensively and that’s likely to continue. For this reason doubling up on the Man City defence could be hugely beneficial for FPL managers.

Walker sits at £5.1m in FPL which is one of the cheapest ways into the Man City defence. Although his attacking threat is statistically minimal he can provide a steady influx of points. That has already been shown in his two clean sheets from three matches.

Perisic

The Tottenham fixtures rank near the bottom of the fixture ticker however in the next three matches play against two newly promoted teams and an out of sorts West Ham. Perisic’s minutes now look like their on the up but a recent knock in his last match could be one to watch in terms of injury news.

If announced fit then the Croatian could be a brilliant option for the next three fixtures. His 12 point haul against Wolves in gameweek 3 reflects his potential. Those points consisted of a clean sheet, assist and all three bonus points.
